Today’s Pack!
Featuring Waldo, Lucy and Bandit!
The wind had completely died down for our second hike and we had nice blue skies again. These three were happy to hike along and sniff all the bushes at their own pace.

Today’s Pack Pair!
Featuring Niko and Kyziah!
We started our hike off with beautiful blue skies. Within minutes of taking this photo under a big rainbow, the wind picked up and blew the storm clouds in. We went from having the warm sun on our faces to pouring rain and hail. And the wind was so strong we made sure to stay in the big open spaces. Once we finished and got back to the car, the wind had carried the storm along and the blue skies were back. A little bit of everything this morning.

Today’s Pack #2!
Featuring Niko, Watson, Charlie, Mayo and Oliver!
We were so excited to have Oliver back today! Especially Watson. He was so full of happy zoomies. It was a soggy day, but we still made the most of it. Lots of fun!

Miss Ru got to join in this morning after our Halloween sleepover last night. She was very excited for some wet and wild playtime. Guinness and Gus did not disappoint. They are always ready for some crazy games.

We explored the Linley trails today. The girls are always happy to sniff out a new area. They are all about the sniff fest!

Featuring Frank and Fiona!
A great first hike for these two. I can think of a few pups that are going to be a great match for Fiona’s energy although Frank does a pretty good job on his own. We are going to have a wonderful time adventuring!

Meet Frank and Fiona!
This dynamic duo had a great first hike with me today. Fiona has that crazy doodle energy and was ready to run circles around us. Frank is a sweet, sensitive giant and I loved seeing his big smile as we hiked along. He was always checking in with me as we went. They both have a great off leash foundation already so we are going to have a great time out there!

Today’s Pack #2!
Featuring Lizzie, Bella, Lucy and Niko!
All ready for rain and then it lightened up right as we reached the trail. Perfect timing! Lucy didn’t seem too impressed to leave her cozy house and venture into the rain. So I’m sure she was quite pleased when it stopped for us. All the big puddles are full now and we may have to choose a different route soon enough. We had to pass one part and Niko and Lizzie waded through the deep puddle while I balanced along a log at the side. Bella and Lucy were sure happy that log was there or they would have been practically swimming. We typically avoid that way in the winter. I guess the time had come.

Featuring Ru, Pepper, Ernie and Watson!
I think Ru was extra excited to see her friend Ernie today! She was so focussed on all the fun that they were having she was forgetting her listening ears a few times. Ernie and Watson lead by example and showed her how the rules work. She was always happy to follow the boys in when called. A work in progress!

Featuring Vinnie, Sadie, Kyziah and Spirit!
Always exciting with these four! And we bumped into our friend Chilly too. Lots of good chase games today. And Sadie made it her mission to roll and get as dirty as she could. Tuesday afternoons are always a good time!

Featuring Nakoa, Maggie and Ysa!
We had a great hike this morning! Ysa had her first off leash hike with us and she did great. She is very food motivated so the recall was easy for her. She loved running around in the field. Nakoa was running circles around all of us. Maggie tried to keep up but he’s much too fast!

Today’s Pack #2!
Featuring Orca, Bandit, Waldo, Lucy and Tyee!
This was not an easy photo to capture. Orca doesn’t like sitting still for too long and Waldo wanted to look any other direction than at the camera. Waldo did great off leash today. And Bandit was actually showing off some bursts of energy. Orca even thought he was going to play with him! We always love seeing his spry side!

I think I must have been so distracted watching them all play today that the group photo completely slipped my mind. We got through the whole hike and loaded into the car before I realized. So we hopped back out and snapped a quick shot at the trail head. I’m sure they would have all been happy to go for round two!

Today’s Pack #2!
Featuring Mayo, Watson and Niko!
These boys make me laugh! Niko and Watson took turns trying to get the other to chase them. Neither of them were interested in doing the chasing, they only wanted to be chased. So it resulted in no chase games at all. Mayo was ready to jump in a few times but the excitement fizzled out and that was that. They are so funny.

Today’s Pack #1!
Featuring Joey, Charlie, Gus and Guinness!
Poor Guinness made some poor choices in the beginning of our walk and spent the majority of the hike on leash afterward. Gus couldn’t figure out why he wasn’t playing with him along the way. He was pulling out all the stops to get him going and couldn’t understand that he was in time out. Next week they will make up for it, I’m sure!

Featuring Watson, Trixie and Phoebe!
Watson joined us girls today. He quickly caught on to their chill vibe and settled into the laid back sniffari hiking style the girls enjoy. He still had a few zoomies to get out when we reached a good puddle. The excitement could not be contained! He does love his puddles!

Today’s Pack #2!
Featuring Lizzie, Bella, Ysa, Lucy and Niko!
We were all very excited to welcome Ysa into the pack. Since it was her first day with us, she stayed on leash. Her, Lizzie and Lucy were having a hard time staying in sync with where they wanted to sniff. It was a bit of a scramble for me keeping the leashes from tangling. They certainly kept me on my toes. We are going to try Ysa out with a different group next week without any other leashed pups until she learns my rules for being fully off leash. Then we can fit her in with any pack and won’t have any tangling issues. She is so sweet, I know she will get along with any group!

Meet Ysa!
This smiley girl has been out of the pack hike game for a few years but was sure happy to be out adventuring with some new friends today. She is sweet as pie! Excited to get her back into the swing of things and ready for some off leash freedom to run and sniff and play with some buddies.

It’s always a treat to have Miss Bella join us for a sleepover and adventure day. She was almost feeling ready to join in the chase with Watson and Ernie today but ended up playing shy instead. She hung back with Pepper and I and sniffed along as we went.

It was looking like rain this morning so I got Nakoa all suited up for it and we ended up barely getting a sprinkle. Jinxed it I guess. Nakoa and Ru had a blast together again and Mags was zooming all over the place too. We love playtime!

Waldo got to experience a hike with the usual Monday afternoon crew. They were all very happy to meet him. Orca would have been happier if he was interested in playing with him. But Waldo was just into the sniffing along.

Lots of good puddles to splash in today! They had a blast playing chase all over the place as usual. It always amazes me how much energy both Kyziah and Orca have. It’s endless!

Today’s Pack #2!
Featuring Lewis, Watson, Mayo and Niko!
The rain started coming down harder this afternoon. When we first walked into the trail the ground was wet but not pooling, but by the time we were coming out of the trail, the puddles were getting too big to avoid. My feet were already soaked so it really didn’t make a difference anyway. Lewis and Watson had a great time playing together today. Niko joined in here and there as well but Mayo was just doing his own thing. I think he was the least impressed by how wet it was out there.

IT’S TICK SEASON! I just pulled this little guy off me. We deal with ticks all year round on the Island, but they come out in full force in the Spring! Make sure you are checking your pups after every hike and I recommend you talk to your vet about prevention options if you aren’t already using something.
