Adoptable FINNY looking for his forever home!
There will be a getting to know you period to ensure we find the perfect fit for Finny, so preference is given to those on Vancouver Island.
Finny is a 3 year old, male Golden Doodle. Neutered and vaccinated.
He is currently living with myself, a professional dog walker and my senior dog. He has been joining in on daily off leash pack hikes and loves spending time running and playing with other dogs. He also has a good sense of when a dog does not want to play and is very respectful.
He walks well on leash with the right harness (provided) but will tend to pull if only using his collar.
His previous family made the hard decision to give him up because they simply do not have the time in their schedules to give him the attention he deserves. He grew up around kids aged 7 and 9 (now 10 and 12). He has not been around cats, but with the proper introduction, I imagine he would be fine.
He has spent a significant amount of time outside on a 5 acre property. He would chase cars down the property line as they went by and also made sure to keep all the deer and other animals from coming in the yard. With these tendencies, a fenced yard is a must for him.
He is fully crate trained and does not jump up on any furniture. However, he has been known to let out a bit of nervous/excited p*e during initial greetings. He has never p*ed in my house. As long as I take him outside right away when he is let out of his crate before giving him any affection, he is fine. When visitors come over, I take him outside initially and have them greet him calmly when he comes back inside.
