Are you considering planting a cover crop this year?
We have Fall Rye and Garden Green (85% Fall Rye, 10% fetch, 5% peas) in stock now!
These come in 5 kg and 25 kg bags.
Cover crops are easy to grow and can help improve your soil in a number of ways:
*add organic matter
*builds PH
*adds nutrients
*reduces soil born disease
*reduces insect problems
* reduces w**d growth
When planting a cover crop, the best time to do so is now, until mid-October.
Plant appr. 1" deep and sow thickly to help choke out w**ds.
Cover crops germinate in the fall, go dormant over winter and then continue to grow the following spring.
Keep in mind that you will need to till your cover crop in to the soil once it reaches 5" to 12" in height.
Wait 3 weeks before planting vegetables etc after you have tilled in your cover crop.

Simply place the granules in the top of the holder unit and empty out the water collected in the bottom periodically.

We have some beautiful and healthy blueberry and raspberry plants available in our garden center.
Even better, they're currently on sale in our flyer!
New to growing blueberries and raspberries?
Keep in mind that blueberries are shallow-rooted and thrive in acidic soil. Amending an alkaline soil with peat moss and using a soil acidifier, (Yes, we have both!) Will help your blueberries thrive.
Raspberries love a sandy/free-draining soil and do not need to be heavily fertilized.
A top dressing of compost in the spring and regular watering through the summer months will ensure that both raspberries and blueberries will thrive!
