Dogs love to run and romp with a pack and have a natural instinct to form a pack and stay together with their Pack Leader. Consistent recall with your pooch will be exercised and established for off-leash adventures and we will practice sits and stays regularly to ensure a balanced pack. Of course lots of love, play and positive reinforcement will be plentiful.

Knowing we are nearing the end, I commissioned ayrikphotography to do a photo shoot of Dio in one of his favourite happy places! The hike up and the views are beautiful while the sun is setting. Dio lives for his hikes and will always be spotted looking over the edge of a ridge and outward to all of his land below. The classic sheepdog pose.
We have just entered the palliative stage of prostate cancer. He is almost 14 years old and has always been healthy until now. He is still energetic, happy and ready to go on his next adventure.
This dog has enriched my life in his own way and like no other.
He is complex, complicated, sweet, bright, incredibly smart with a touch of badass. He has been on more than 2000 pack hikes and took the position of Assistant Pack Leader whether I wanted it or not. Turns out, after 12 years of doing this together, we are perfectly in sync with each other and which dog in the pack needs a little “talking to”.
This is the dog that taught me the most about dog handling and management. He is a second hand dog and when we met for the first time, I knew instantly. I needed him and he needed me.
We will continue our adventures together until he no longer can. He is hardwired for it.
I will not drag on his life for my sake. We will both know when it is time. His pride and dignity intact.
