⚠️ALERT ⚠️
IF YOU HAVE A WOOD STOVE IN YOUR HOME

Poor little Tillie, the 5-month-old Rottweiler, got a bit to close to the wood stove and paid the price for her curiosity. The very same week that Tillie came in to see us we also saw a cat with burned paws caused by jumping up onto the wood stove.

Tillie was treated for thermal burns with a topical, antibacterial, medicated cream that would help to heal the burns and prevent infection. She was sent home in a cone collar so that she couldn't scratch the injured area with her paws and cause further problems.

She left the hospital looking rather sorry for herself, but after a recent progress examination we are happy to say that her veterinarian is pleased with her healing and she is now looking great and wants to let other pets know that the wood stove might make the room warm and cozy, but it's not a good thing to get too close to.

To keep pets away from your woodstove, use physical barriers like baby gates or screens, create a 3-foot "no-play zone," keep toys and beds away from the stove, and supervise pets closely to prevent them from getting too close to hot surfaces or flames, using techniques like the tinfoil deterrent if needed. Always ensure the stove is closed and tools are stored safely away.

‼️Most importantly, NEVER leave you pet unattended near your wood stove. It only takes a second for an incident to occur.‼️

🛒Due to lack of storage space at our hospital we kindly ask that you only donate and drop off items that are included in their wish list please.

We will be accepting donations between now and the end of the year.

Last night we had some festive fun as a team & spent the evening crafting, playing hilarious games & eating delicious food together. Some of us even went the extra mile & dressed up in costume.

Huge thanks to the talented Clancy at Infinity Wellness wellness for the use of her lovely art studio space & for her wonderfully curated crafting projects - she was a very gracious & talented hostess.
Also, thanks to for the tasty food that was delivered right on time & enjoyed by all.

Not all of the Selkirk team were able to make the event, but those of that did had a fabulous evening of fun together.🎅🤣🎉
