We have so many new friends here with us, I figured it was time to reintroduce myself!

My name is Brandi, and I am the founder/owner & operator of the real life farm of Merikle Waters Paints & Quarters. I am also the only person who posts on this page.

While I'm a professional horse trainer by trade, I have actually been breeding horses for even longer. I began training professionally in 2008 & began breeding in 2004 (welcoming my first foal crop in 2005) with our first stallion, Millenium Miracle. It feels super weird to say that I've already been training professionally for 17 years & breeding for 21, but probably only because it feels like the time seems to have passed by in a blink.

When I began training, I primarily worked with horses that needed to be started under saddle & 'problem horses' who needed some retraining/trust building. Not long into my career, this also included show horses. Through my career of training & breeding horses, I have also been privileged enough to work with an extremely large variety of breeds of horses in a large variety of disciplines. I have also been able to participate in some super cool things through the wonderful horses in my life too. Things such as; Riding a world champion reining mare in Holland, being behind the scenes of the filming of the drum horse segment of the Equus movie (With handsome Romeo who was owned by Black Orchid Horses at the time of filming), Our homebred gelding (Taylor) carrying a groom to his wedding day in Edmonton in part of a Bharat Ceremony, the lovely Caroline riding one of our homebreds (Bohdi) in the Calgary Stampede Parade in 2024, Tristan (our current homebred senior stallion) hanging out at Spruce Meadows to represent CPtHA and so, so much more. Through breeding, raising & training them, I have also been gifted the opportunity to help others find their heart horses & make their goals & dreams come true. For me, the joy brought to me by helping make others dreams come true is probably only rivaled by the love and support you all always extend to me.

I am of course also a horse nerd, through & through! So I of course have a UofG Diploma in Equine Studies (with distinction) & Equine Science certificate (with distinction) and do my best to always remain a student of the horse. While I do currently invest all my 'spare time' making content for you all, I still work full time training & running of my farm. I do not employ anyone or have another MW page (stallion pages, aside), but generally when I need a hand with something, it is my mother whom is the one to lend it to me. Generally speaking though, it's just me myself & I.

We currently have 19 of our own horses, 3 of those being our stallions; Tristans Millenium, Millenium Made & MW My Kind Of Kool. Since this post is already getting quite long winded - I'll leave the introductions of them (or reintroduction for some of you lovelies) to another day.

I want to thank you again from the bottom of my heart for all being here with me & the MW herd. Every view or interaction with any of my content has been & continues to change our lives for the better, and I just can't thank you enough for that. Through your continued support of our content & your participation in the little community we have created here together, it makes our big plans for the future (that will just further enrich the lives of our horses) feel so much more attainable. Your support of our content is a way that you all are showing your love for the horses that I too love so dearly, and I am so beyond honored & speechless that I really don't think there is an appropriate word for the way this makes me feel. All I can muster to say without crying is thank each & every one of you so very much, I truly love you all very much!!

So long as your tack and gear is functional, you do you! People are going to judge you no matter what you do, so just stay safe, treat your horse well, and remind yourself that the truth of having it all is really just having everything you need in that moment ❤️

Our Story

Merikle Waters has been operating a small but strong breeding program since mid 2004. Our program was founded on our great, late stallion, Millenium Miracle. Sadly he passed away January 2018. We have retained several of his fillies to ensure the continuation of his line, as well as currently stand his son - Tristans Millenium at public stud. Brandi has been training professionally since 2009, and offers training best summed up as ‘classical dressage/natural horsemanship’, which essentially is clear, thoughtful & kind horsemanship that offers consideration to both the mind and body of the horse as a whole. She believes this balanced approach offers the greatest potential for the best equine partnership available. She has special interest in c**t starting, problem horses, and all around show horses. We also offer riding lessons, horse sales, consignment services, judging services, exhibition services, breeding/foaling services, and assessments/consultations.
