Some of you may not be aware that all of the dogs have access to our brand new slatmill!

A slat mill is an exercise and enrichment tool that is completely self powered by your dog alone. It provides the dog with fun, focused exercise, and has many other benefits which include:

* Reducing any unwanted behavior such as digging, barking, chewing, hyperactivity etc.

*Maintaining and conditioning a healthy body; keeping muscles and joints agile and limber.

*Building confidence and trust with insecure dogs.

* Using a slatmill as a warmup to a regular walk allows the dog to burn off much needed energy in high drive dogs, or those that get overstimulated quickly.

*allows elderly or reactive dogs a space to exercise safely and out of severe weather elements like heavy rain, snow, heat, wind etc.

(The slat mill does not replace your walks or personal routines.)

Here are a couple of the pups becoming familiar sharing the same space as the weird looking machine. It usually takes some time for your pup to become familiar, get comfortable being attached by their harness, figure out that they are the ones controlling the speed and momentum, learning to stop appropriately, etc. I keep the slats locked until I feel they can move on to the next step.

I offer all pups free intro lessons (up to 3 lessons). Thereafter, the average time spent on a slatmill is 20-30 mins max.

Exclusive add on member pricing per session is only $15 for a 30 min time slot after they have completed any intro sessions.

Dogs who aren't members of our immediate pack can still book a time to enjoy the benefits of the slatmill. The first 30 min intro lesson is free (with subsequent booked sessions) and all subsequent bookings are only $20 per session.

It's a cozy up and play on the ground kinda day. Rosie and Lola have learned that getting down to Prince's level assures them a good chance at him wanting to play. Dogs can be impressive at adapting their own playstyle, size, and speed to reflect their current playmates. And Prince is even wearing the same outfit as Lola. Lol ❤️

Everybody voted for a snuggly, snuffle mat, evisceration party kind of day. ❤️ You don't have to spend a ton of money on foraging enrichment. I regularly buy old tea towels or pillow cases, wash them, cut them into strips, line them with kibble and then tie them into puzzles for the gang to wrestle open. :) #enrichmentfordogs #enrichmentbaseddogdaycare #newwestdogs #newwestminster

You might be asking yourself "Why does this woman video this poor dog instead of helping her get free from the furious worm monster who has her in her grips?" Because this is Rosie! Rosie does not need my help with her master plans of world domination, as odd as they may seem. Rosie can be found doing this exact thing at least 7 times per day. Not an exaggeration. For some reason, she thinks it's hilarious to act like she is stuck in the baby tunnel and then frees herself at the last minute. As you can imagine, Rosie keeps me busy finding new ways to keep her entertained and engaged. Lol.
