I had the pleasure a few weekends ago of hosting not one, but TWO sets of different doodle families at my home – Color, Belle, and Walter. It was the first time having such a mix of doodles, and it went AMAZINGLY well! 👏

I’m so thrilled the girls took to Walter so quickly. At first, he was a bit unsure – being just a puppy but by the end of the weekend, they were all playing together and walking side by side, with Walter happily trotting in the middle! They chased one another around the yard, tails wagging and paws darting, and they walked so well together. Watching these doodles bond was such a special moment, and it warmed my heart to see the pack come together so seamlessly. 🐾 😍

It’s always a pleasure to welcome new dogs into my home and create these wonderful memories ❤️ 🐾

While his parents were getting married, I had the pleasure of watching Odin. 🐾 🤍

As a young puppy, he was full of energy and curiosity, constantly exploring the world around him. He was still in the process of learning and adapting to his environment, so he definitely needed lots of stimulation throughout the day. His enthusiasm was contagious, and it was clear that he thrived on activity and interaction. 🌏

One of his favorite things to do was play fetch. Odin would chase after the ball with relentless determination and wouldn't stop until you did. He had boundless energy and a love for the game, often bringing the ball back to you with an eager, expectant look on his face. It was impossible not to be swept up in his excitement. When he wasn’t playing fetch, he loved going on long walks. He was so curious about everything around him, sniffing every blade of grass, every tree, and any new scent he could find. It was like a new adventure for him each time we stepped outside. 🏀

Odin had a special fondness for sticks, especially the ones that looked like bones. He would eagerly grab them and chew on them for hours, treating them like prized possessions. It was such a simple joy for him. 🪵 😃

Food and treats were definitely a huge motivator for Odin. I noticed how quickly he learned that sitting calmy would earn him a tasty reward. Whether it was a small treat or just a little praise, Odin was always eager to please, especially when food was involved!

Despite his high-energy personality, Odin was also a big sweetheart. After his playful bursts, he would settle down and seek affection. He loved being close to people, and if you were sitting down, he’d often curl up beside you or nudge your hand with his nose for some pets. He was incredibly affectionate and craved attention, always wanting to be near you, whether it was for a snuggle or just to be in your presence. His gentle, loving nature balanced out his playful side. 🥰😍

While their family was at Great Wolf Lodge, I had the absolute pleasure of looking after Max and Ruby, the sweetest pitty mixes 🐾 🤍

Ruby, full of energy and mischief, was always on the go! She loved playing fetch and was lightning fast on her feet, so focused on the ball that she didn't even notice the deer grazing along the fence line. When she wasn’t chasing after the ball, Ruby could be found soaking up the sun on the deck or causing a bit of trouble by stealing pillows. At night, she’d curl up right on top of your head to claim every last inch of the pillow for herself! 🏃‍♀️ 🏀

Max, on the other hand, was a gentle and sweet old soul. He was a little slower to get started, but he enjoyed playing too—though Ruby was quick to swoop in and steal the ball from him. He didn’t mind for long, though. Max preferred to roam the yard, sniffing everything he could find, but he was never far from our side, always keeping an eye on us. Max also enjoyed soaking up the sun on the deck. One of his favourite spots to lay was on the couch. 🛋️ 🌞

Both of them loved a good cuddle, and there was nothing better than snuggling up with them after a long day of play. Max and Ruby were food-driven, and every time we cooked, they’d sit eagerly at our feet, hoping a morsel would fall their way. Max needed his medication mixed with peanut butter, and to make sure Ruby didn’t feel left out, we gave her a little too. These two may have had their different personalities, but they shared one thing in common: they were both incredibly loving 🐾 😍

I took a chance on submitting several of my photos to the after learning about it just weeks before the submission deadline.

I’m happy to say that I received bronze awards on several images, and silver for this one!

This was the only photo I took and edited specifically for this competition. I had no entries in the “Action” category. I watched some videos by .ed, learned how to use back button focus, and got to shooting.

Did I make MANY tweaks, ask for feedback, and resubmit several times? Yes! Do I see room for improvement? Yes! But overall, I am very happy!

I cannot wait to see what next year brings! 🥈🥉

Biggie is his name, and when you see the size of him, you'll get it. 😛 🤍

Biggie is a big boy but very shy and would bark at me for pets.

A morning person he was not...I had to drag him out of bed to go outside at the crack of dawn. 🌄

Biggies favorite things were long walks, playing in the sandbox, fetching toys, and cuddling in bed. 🚶‍♂️ 🐾

Which he tend to take up the whole bed. Which left me to not have much room to sleep 😴

He was very outgoing on our walks, saying hi to everyone that would stop to pet him, although he wasn't a poser for the camera as if he didn't like to have his picture taken. 👋 😍

As rifle season is open, it’s crucial for hikers and walkers to prioritize safety while enjoying the great outdoors. Bright colours , as they enhance visibility against the natural backdrop. This helps hunters spot you easily, reducing the risk of accidental encounters.

When planning your hike, consider sticking to well-marked trails and popular areas, which are often less frequented by hunters. It's also wise to hike during daylight hours and avoid early mornings or late afternoons when hunting activity may peak. 🦌 🪵

These three were so excited when I arrived at their door tails wagging and joyful barking was what I heard from Shirley, Roxy and Laverne. I had the pleasure of doing a few drop-in visits for these 3 while their family was away. 🐾 😃 😍

Shirley was the mama bear of the trio. She would always be first to the door for a big pet, was submissive, loved having her belly rubbed, and craved most of the attention. She loved her treats and waited patiently for them. 🤍 😊

Roxy loved her ball and carried it around with her. She enjoyed some pets, but when Roxy was done, she was done and would just go and lay down. She was a sniffer and definitely treat driven. 🏐

Laverne was very shy and needed lots of reassuring and positive interaction to get her to come outside. With lots of treats and talking her through it, I got her outside, which she enjoyed

Winter is fast approaching, and limited bookings are available. 🐾 🤍

Meet Jack , what a guy, a happy pup with lots of expression. His expressions seemed to indicate smiles for miles 😄 😍

Jack was very rambunctious and loved to play fetch. When the ball would bounce once, he would catch it in the air. ⚾

Jack was always up for exploring and enjoyed going on adventures such as long walks running through the woods and behind the four-wheeler chasing after us. Jack was an outdoor dog and never wanted to stop playing. ✋️ 🤍

He definitely loved getting attention and would be submissive as he would roll over on this back for some belly rubs. He also enjoyed the dog couch and would make himself very comfortable as he would be lying on his back with all four legs up 🐾 🛋

Rupert and Amelia came to spend the weekend with me while their parents tied the knot. 💍

They had so much personality and acted like tiny humans...I couldn't help but grin every time I said the old man Ruperts name. 🤍 🐾

They were smart as whips, doing tricks such as dancing for treats, which they seemed to be so proud of. 👏

They loved to go for long walks down the road, and they loved being around us. 🚶‍♀️

Amelia knew what she wanted and would bark when playing fetch if you didn't throw the ball far enough or fast enough. Ameila enjoyed the grass as she would roll in it. She loved to be shown affection and wanted lots of pets. 😍

She also would steal the ball from Rupert and prance around as tho she thought it was funny. 😁

Rupert was a gentle old soul and never left our sides he followed us around the yard, always keeping a close eye on us. Rupert was a sniffer and would run around the yard but got tired out quickly. 🏃‍♂️

Rupert was submissive and loved being pet and cuddling. His favorite spot to lay was between Clark's legs. Haha 😄
