I had the absolute pleasure of watching Ginger while her family was soaking up the sun down south, and let me tell you, this little ball of energy was an adventure in herself! 🐾😍

Still a puppy, Ginger was nonstop fun whether she was playing with the other dogs, racing through the woods, or trotting down our road on exciting walks. She was always ready to get the zoomies and had a hilarious habit of pawing at her friends' heads, as if urging them to join in on the fun. 🪵 🌎

Ginger couldn’t stand being apart from Clark and I for even a second. She was our constant shadow, always wanting attention no matter where we went. 🤗💋

Especially laying on the bathmat when we were showering. And when is it time to wake up? Ginger’s idea of a good morning was a big, wet kiss or a bear hug, her paws up on us as if she was saying, "It’s playtime!" 🏀 🚶‍♀️🐾

One of her quirkiest habits was burying her head in the snow and eating it—she absolutely loved it! 😋❄️🐾

Truly, Ginger was a life-sized teddy bear her energy, affection, and playful spirit made every day feel like a new adventure. She lived for the outdoors and made sure everyone around her did, too! By the end of the week, Ginger and Dolly, the black lab, had become the best of friends, always chasing each other around and sharing endless fun. 🐻❤️ 🥰

While his parents were out of town visiting family over Christmas for a few days! 🎄🎅 I had the pleasure of watching this sweet and affectionate boy! Every time I stopped by, Ollie would come running to the door, eager to see me. He truly acted more like a dog than a cat loving to play and even rolling over for belly rubs. Ollie definitely thrived on company, often hopping onto my lap, craving all the pets and attention he could get. And let’s not forget his stunning big blue eyes. 💙 To my surprise, Ollie was also great at taking selfies, always ready to strike a pose!

I had the pleasure of watching this sweet boy over the Christmas break, and it was such a delight! 🎄 🎅

Coba was full of personality and absolutely loved affection and attention. He had his own quirks, and his stubbornness made walks an interesting adventure—he’d often sit down and refuse to budge, content to enjoy a slow, leisurely pace for short strolls. 🚶‍♀️ 😍

One of the cutest things I noticed was how much Coba loved to play. He had a playful, slightly mischievous side, and was always eager to be around people. He loved getting pets and cuddling in bed, often settling right in between Clark and me, seeking attention whenever someone was nearby. 🛌

We also have plenty of deer in the yard, and Coba would sit by the window, watching them intently. He’d whine with excitement, clearly wanting to run outside and play with them. He also loved laying by the door, soaking up the warmth of the sun streaming in. 🦌 🌞

Coba was always excited for car rides, whether it was to the feed store or to my parents' house for even more attention. He couldn’t wait to hop in the car and start his little adventures. 🚗 🐾 🤍

Coba was such a fun companion, and his unique personality made caring for him an enjoyable experience from start to finish!

I had the absolute pleasure of watching Belle and Color while their mom was away for work, and let me tell you, these two are full of personality! The majority of the time they looked like they had smiles on their faces because they were always so happy. Color and Belle were full of energy and joy, always ready for an adventure. 🌲 🌎 🤍

They loved going on long walks, playing fetch, and racing around the yard, chasing each other. The excitement was contagious, especially when I’d say, “We’re going for a walk!” or “Time to go outside and play!” They’d get so excited, bouncing around and wagging their tails like crazy. 🚶‍♀️ 🐾

It was non-stop fun, though a bit chaotic at times, especially when a squirrel appeared! They’d pull me off my feet, trying to catch it, haha! 🐿️

Both girls were total attention seekers, constantly following me around for pets and cuddles. Belle especially loved to sleep in bed with us and definitely enjoyed affection in the morning. They also enjoyed their downtime and would cuddle up beside each other to sleep. 😍 🐾 🛌

When it came treats, they were very treat-driven! They’d start barking if I took too long to give them their treats, showing off their impatience in the nicest way possible!

I had the pleasure of looking after Trigger while his family was away at Niagara-on-the-Lake. Trigger is such a lovable and attention-seeking dog, and it was clear how much he adored having someone around. When I arrived at his home, he greeted me with a wagging tail and non-stop barking, so happy to have company! 🐾 🤍

Twice a day, we went for short walks, and Trigger loved sniffing everything in sight. He’s definitely treat drive if you didn’t give him his treat fast enough. He’d bark to remind you! One of the sweetest things I noticed was his habit of taking socks from the ground and carrying them back to his bed, holding them in his mouth. It seemed like it was a comfort thing for him. 😊 🚶‍♀️ 🧦
It was a joy spending time with Trigger, and I couldn’t help but smile at his quirky, affectionate nature! 😍 Stef Dalgleish

I had the pleasure a few weekends ago of hosting not one, but TWO sets of different doodle families at my home – Color, Belle, and Walter. It was the first time having such a mix of doodles, and it went AMAZINGLY well! 👏

I’m so thrilled the girls took to Walter so quickly. At first, he was a bit unsure – being just a puppy but by the end of the weekend, they were all playing together and walking side by side, with Walter happily trotting in the middle! They chased one another around the yard, tails wagging and paws darting, and they walked so well together. Watching these doodles bond was such a special moment, and it warmed my heart to see the pack come together so seamlessly. 🐾 😍

It’s always a pleasure to welcome new dogs into my home and create these wonderful memories ❤️ 🐾

While his parents were getting married, I had the pleasure of watching Odin. 🐾 🤍

As a young puppy, he was full of energy and curiosity, constantly exploring the world around him. He was still in the process of learning and adapting to his environment, so he definitely needed lots of stimulation throughout the day. His enthusiasm was contagious, and it was clear that he thrived on activity and interaction. 🌏

One of his favorite things to do was play fetch. Odin would chase after the ball with relentless determination and wouldn't stop until you did. He had boundless energy and a love for the game, often bringing the ball back to you with an eager, expectant look on his face. It was impossible not to be swept up in his excitement. When he wasn’t playing fetch, he loved going on long walks. He was so curious about everything around him, sniffing every blade of grass, every tree, and any new scent he could find. It was like a new adventure for him each time we stepped outside. 🏀

Odin had a special fondness for sticks, especially the ones that looked like bones. He would eagerly grab them and chew on them for hours, treating them like prized possessions. It was such a simple joy for him. 🪵 😃

Food and treats were definitely a huge motivator for Odin. I noticed how quickly he learned that sitting calmy would earn him a tasty reward. Whether it was a small treat or just a little praise, Odin was always eager to please, especially when food was involved!

Despite his high-energy personality, Odin was also a big sweetheart. After his playful bursts, he would settle down and seek affection. He loved being close to people, and if you were sitting down, he’d often curl up beside you or nudge your hand with his nose for some pets. He was incredibly affectionate and craved attention, always wanting to be near you, whether it was for a snuggle or just to be in your presence. His gentle, loving nature balanced out his playful side. 🥰😍

While their family was at Great Wolf Lodge, I had the absolute pleasure of looking after Max and Ruby, the sweetest pitty mixes 🐾 🤍

Ruby, full of energy and mischief, was always on the go! She loved playing fetch and was lightning fast on her feet, so focused on the ball that she didn't even notice the deer grazing along the fence line. When she wasn’t chasing after the ball, Ruby could be found soaking up the sun on the deck or causing a bit of trouble by stealing pillows. At night, she’d curl up right on top of your head to claim every last inch of the pillow for herself! 🏃‍♀️ 🏀

Max, on the other hand, was a gentle and sweet old soul. He was a little slower to get started, but he enjoyed playing too—though Ruby was quick to swoop in and steal the ball from him. He didn’t mind for long, though. Max preferred to roam the yard, sniffing everything he could find, but he was never far from our side, always keeping an eye on us. Max also enjoyed soaking up the sun on the deck. One of his favourite spots to lay was on the couch. 🛋️ 🌞

Both of them loved a good cuddle, and there was nothing better than snuggling up with them after a long day of play. Max and Ruby were food-driven, and every time we cooked, they’d sit eagerly at our feet, hoping a morsel would fall their way. Max needed his medication mixed with peanut butter, and to make sure Ruby didn’t feel left out, we gave her a little too. These two may have had their different personalities, but they shared one thing in common: they were both incredibly loving 🐾 😍

I took a chance on submitting several of my photos to the after learning about it just weeks before the submission deadline.

I’m happy to say that I received bronze awards on several images, and silver for this one!

This was the only photo I took and edited specifically for this competition. I had no entries in the “Action” category. I watched some videos by .ed, learned how to use back button focus, and got to shooting.

Did I make MANY tweaks, ask for feedback, and resubmit several times? Yes! Do I see room for improvement? Yes! But overall, I am very happy!

I cannot wait to see what next year brings! 🥈🥉

Biggie is his name, and when you see the size of him, you'll get it. 😛 🤍

Biggie is a big boy but very shy and would bark at me for pets.

A morning person he was not...I had to drag him out of bed to go outside at the crack of dawn. 🌄

Biggies favorite things were long walks, playing in the sandbox, fetching toys, and cuddling in bed. 🚶‍♂️ 🐾

Which he tend to take up the whole bed. Which left me to not have much room to sleep 😴

He was very outgoing on our walks, saying hi to everyone that would stop to pet him, although he wasn't a poser for the camera as if he didn't like to have his picture taken. 👋 😍

As rifle season is open, it’s crucial for hikers and walkers to prioritize safety while enjoying the great outdoors. Bright colours , as they enhance visibility against the natural backdrop. This helps hunters spot you easily, reducing the risk of accidental encounters.

When planning your hike, consider sticking to well-marked trails and popular areas, which are often less frequented by hunters. It's also wise to hike during daylight hours and avoid early mornings or late afternoons when hunting activity may peak. 🦌 🪵
