It’s World Rabies Day! Please keep your pets vaccinated and leashed when outside to help prevent contact with roaming animals that might have rabies.

Remember that animals with rabies can present in many ways — the traditional ‘furious’ form, the dazed, ‘dumb’ form, or even as injured animals. Avoid contact with any unknown and wild animals.

Want to learn more about Coyotes?

Join the Town of Aurora on Wednesday, October 30, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Aurora Town Hall, Council Chambers for a public information session on coexisting with coyotes in our urban environment. 🦊

Learn from Coyote Watch Canada and Aurora’s Animal Services officers about coyote behaviour, safety tips, wildlife-proofing your property, and the correct procedures for reporting sightings or encounters. The evening will end with a Q&A session where you can get all your questions answered.

Rabies is a fatal disease caused by a virus found in the saliva of infected mammals. It's most common in wildlife, but can infect any mammal, including pets and humans. To prevent rabies, in Ontario, it's required by law for dogs, cats and ferrets three months of age and older to be vaccinated against the disease. This , make an appointment with your veterinarian to keep your pet protected. Let's work together to prevent rabies and keep our communities safe.
