We have had a whirlwind of horse shows, so more social media updates will follow on those later but I wanted to take a minute to acknowledge these two long time members of the DME academy and performance programs. Both Abigail and Lexi had some very unfortunate circumstances coming into their last horse show and made lemonade from lemons. As Abigail's regular ride Mini had an absess, we left her at home for the angelstone Silver Series 5. Lexi had an accident on the ground with a horse stepping on her foot that left her with a broken foot right before Silver Series 4. Lexi offered Abigail the chance to show Fox and the two girls worked together to show Fox over the weekend. So incredibly proud of them both for working so well together, putting their horses' needs at top priority, and having such great rounds all weekend on the super horse Fox! After a busy show weekend, they were both at work Monday in the academy helping the next generation learn. They exemplify our team values, way to go girls!

I want to take a moment to acknowledge Tessa Gray's performance at the last Hamilton Hunt jumper show. Tessa exemplified team spirit at this show.

While she was unable to show her own horse as he was frightened by the tents and umbrellas, she cheered her more experienced teammate in showing him.

When later offered the opportunity to show a different horse, whom she hadn't ridden in a long time, named Jorja, she jumped at the possibility. Even though Jorja had a refusal in each of her classes as she also was a bit frightened by the tent, Tessa G came out of the ring with a smile on her face and a ton of positivity towards her horse.

She was flexible, positive, and supportive of all her teammates. Way to go Tessa!

Riley and her five year old gelding Donatello bred by Bennville Equine had a lovely weekend in hunter land, in the 2ft open hunter, 2ft3 amateur, and 2ft derby. Riley has done a great job taking her time with her beautiful young horse, so he is a relaxed and happy boy in the ring!

Sara and Hot Pants, owned by Bennville Equine, had a super weekend in the 2ft open, 2ft3 amateur, and 2ft derby. This beautiful pair turn heads wherever they go and built a lot of confidence in maintaining a steady rhythm in the hunter ring. Hot Pants has shown third level dressage and made the switch to the hunters fairly recently :)

Penelope and Skittles tackled the 0.6m ring at the silver series with a beautiful, relaxed, clear round. These two make such a lovely pair, with P really prioritizing her pony's feelings and positivity in the ring! So great to see them start on such a good note this year.

Abigail and Yoshi had a blast at Angelstone Silver. He is a bit of an overachiever lol. Abigail showed a great attitude when her horse came up with an absess right before the show, and we pivotted to take her long time partner Yoshi out for one more spin at the silver series. Way to make lemonade from lemons Abigail!
