Hello guys!
We have about 3 cats coming in this week and are in a desperate need of fosters! Remember, we care for all of the financial needs of the pet and the cats come with everything they need!
One is a 12 y/o male neutered tabby who is well behaved and easy to care for. No dogs and older children only.
The other two are a tuxedo bonded female sister pair. They are great with kids and dogs of all ages.

FOSTER NEEDED IN NORTHERN ONTARIO!
Macy is a 6-7 year old Rotti mix, with all the love to give. She is looking for a foster home, where she can spread her wings and blossom into the amazing pet she is meant to be ❤️🙏
She has to be in a home with either another dog smaller than her and not dominate, or no other animals. She absolutely loves to be the centre of attention! She is amazing with kids and other people. And loves to be the first to greet guests at the door.
She is currently in foster but her foster has a newborn who’s developed allergies so we need her replaced as soon as possible!
She is a Rotti girl through and through. She loves to talk with her deep voice, but she is such a kind gentle soul! If Macy seems like she would be a good fit for you!
Please let me know if you are interested in fostering this beautiful girl!
🚨*REHOME ALERT*🚨

Heather Watling and her foster team have done such an amazing job with Ariel. She’s gone from a defensive and scared dog to so much more confident, playful, and becoming more and more of a dog everyday.
If you have a pup and are interested in a second or third dog who has SO MUCH love to give, contact the rescue. They are in Sudbury and I am willing to transport for meet and greets and adoptions.

IF YOU FIND A HYPOTHERMIC ANIMAL
1. DO NOT FEED
2. DO NOT SUBMERSE IN WATER
1. DO get out of the weather and inside
2. DO dry off
3. DO talk to
4. DO stroke to stimulate blood flow
GET TO A VET IMMEDIATELY!!!
If you feed a kitten with a temp below 97 you can KILL it!
If you warm them up to fast you can KILL it!
If the animal is frozen to the ground DO NOT PULL IT OFF!
Get LUKE WARM tap water and pour it around and under the animal. that water is warmer than the snow and air and is going to feel like FIRE to that animal's nerve endings. Think about stepping into a hot tub and how hot it feels. Again you DO NOT want to use hot water. Then Immediately dry the animal off, wrap it in a towel, shirt etc. and get to the nearest vet office.
Steady and slow is rule of thumb. A vet can treat the animal for shock and hypothermia using a series of injections and warm IV fluids and an incubator.
Losing ears, tails, toes or a leg is workable. Damaging internal organs isn't.

I shared the post on my personal page about the lives I have worked with this year. And my gf commented this.
Tbh, I didn’t realize how much I have helped her this year because it never seems to be much in the moment.
I’m so blessed to have been able to do what I do. I hope for more opportunities in this upcoming year. Sometimes it’s just being there and sometimes it’s giving a helping hand. Thank you for all your support! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

This. And then the ones we can’t save the way we want to always takes a piece of our souls.
I hear all the time “I couldn’t do your job. It’s so hard.”
No s**t. Then please advocate for proper breeding, pet care, fixing your animals, supporting programs that support low income families and senior owners. Step up so that what you see me do doesn’t continue to get harder.
BEFORE YOU GET OFFENDED when someone suggests you neuter your pet please read this.
1. Statistically for every kitten sold on Facebook for a few bucks and is actually neutered, another one won't be.
2. Every rescue is dependant on volunteers. Volunteers who lose family time, money, sleep, weekends and evenings caring for and fundraising to ensure unwanted cats get the correct care.
3.Animals have no voice.. So when somebody speaks on their behalf stop getting upset.
4.Uneutered male cats will wander in search of females. They will fight ferociously and cause terrible injury to other males in the process causing FIV and sepsis. And dreadful life threatening diseases.
5. Every litter of kittens born in your home and sold adds to the problem by stopping a rescue cat being adopted.
6. Rescues are full to capacity with cats which have been bought on a whim of Facebook and surrendered or abandoned due to boredom or inability to afford vet bills, Neuter, Vaccs, Food, Flea and worm treatment.
7. Each rescue has a waiting list. They spend literally thousands of dollars (many spend tens of thousands) a year on vet treatment, food, litter, flea and worm treatment, electricity, cleaners and disinfectants and all of the business supplies to keep running. These are just the basics.
8. Behind the scenes volunteers nurse and clean out several times a day. Fundraising is a constant effort. Worrying about cats who have been surrendered and are traumatized by being torn from their families and surroundings. The staff and volunteers carry the guilt of the decisions they have to make.
9. Rescues have volunteers who drive for miles to keep things afloat. Trapping stray cats, picking up unwanted cats and spending hours on the phone trying to find spaces and foster homes for unwanted pets.
10. Volunteers spend their free time and energy picking up the pieces from people who allow cats to have kittens and refuse to neuter.
Please don’t be offended when someone asks are you getting your pet neutered - rescues see the consequences of these actions every day 365 days a year and are simply giving a voice to the vulnerable creatures so casually given away or sold for a few dollars.
In light of recent Tik Tok trends we would like to release a statement:
Please STOP. Stop barking in your dog's face. Stop blowing in your dog's face. Stop scaring your dog on purpose. While these all seem funny and while the videos posted are cute the truth behind it is that YOU are risking getting BIT by your own dog! Most of those bites will be in the face, hands, or neck and both of you will suffer for this. You will end up at the hospital and your dog could potentially end up euthanized. Hospitals are legally obligated to notify Animal Control when a dog bite comes in. You are setting your dog up for failure every time you try one of these tik tok challenges.
Thank you City of Littlefield Animal Shelter for reminding humans the potential end result of these TikTok videos!!
Anyone else have a cat like this?? 😂
Between the cost of schooling vs income, amount of stress, lack of support and the emotionally disturbing situations they deal with; vet workers are amongst the highest workers that deal with su***de. Vetmed is a small world and we all know someone who’s tried or successfully completed a su***de attempt.
Please, call or email your vet and say thank you. Those messages mean more than you realize.
Most in the veterinary community are aware of the high rate of su***de in the profession. Is it underrecognized? Is it getting better?
Hello everyone! Hope everyone is having a great holiday season and everyone stays safe for the New Year!
I noticed there is a lot of support for grieving owners, but not workers in the animal care field. I have friends all across the industry and they all seem to face the same struggles and burn out due to them. The industry is already hurting for people and we need everyone we can and keep everyone we can. In saying that, I want to start a grief support group for animal care workers; whether it’s rescue, animal control, vet med, or any of the other many industries this field has. I want to offer weekly virtual group meetings where we can share experiences, coping mechanisms, vent, etc. I want to share resources for workers who may need more than community support and let people across the industry be supported.
It’s such a tough industry and I hear all the time “I couldn’t do your job, it would break me.” Truth is, it breaks many of us and some of us don’t always know how to get back up.
If there’s anyone who is interested or has any ideas, please comment below. I will add you once it’s up and running and take consideration for advice and ideas thrown my way!
Thank you 🙂
Pic of my cat (Dynah) and her first snow for attention.
Merry Christmas. Remember that pets require more than the holidays as commitment. Think before you gift.
Remember… they may not be your only pet in your life… but for your pet, you’re the only human in their life.
If anyone is able to help, please reach out to the OP to get a payment to the vet organized under the owners name.

Rats are super intelligent pets! They are super easy to train if you have the right tools! They are super easy to care for because they are laid back and can be super cuddly. In today’s pandemic world we are all feeling a little helpless, lost, and out of control. Fostering is a great way to combat those feelings and help an animal that is feeling the same way! As a foster you open your heart and your home to pets in need. We provide the financial side of things, you provide the nurturing side of things. You get a companion who’s life you get to change by being one of the most important people in their lives. You get to save a life. You get to make a world of a difference to an animal. And in turn, make a difference in this world. Foster today.
