Yesterday we wrapped up programs for summer break. It couldn't have been with a better cowboy than Michael, who did the Barnyard Roundup with a friendly game of Tic Tac Toe to finishl! 🤠

Michael has been a friend to us and Mystic for just about a year now. Here's what his mom said about his time at EmPower U Equine!

"In 2023 I sent an email to Empower U Equine in Nipawin. I had asked if they could accommodate our adult son with special needs. I explained that he so wanted to be a cowboy, but that given his mobility issues it was highly unlikely that he could safely sit upon a horse.

Shannon assured me that they could create a beneficial program for Michael. We met up with Shannon, Barbie, and Mystic. From the start they were honest with Michael that for his and Mystic’s safety, Michael would be working on skills to be a cowboy from the ground, and that those too were important skills.

Each session Michael has received a theme and each skill and activity fits into the theme. Michael has gained so much from these sessions: factual knowledge about horses; physical and mobility skills; language skills; how to look after another; confidence; acceptance; and most importantly a very special bond with Mystic who is absolutely amazing.

We cannot thank Empower U Equine enough for all they have done for Michael; it has been an incredible experience!

Signing them up for our Pony Pals Camp will offer that and so much more. 🐎

Designed for youth ages five to eight, they will spend their time learning about horses in ground based experiences. 🐴

Their adventures with the Pony Pals will teach them about caring for horses, how horses learn and play, how they communicate and what they can teach us.👏

This day includes a special story from Hi Ho Silver, a Pony Ride to wrap it up and guest appearances from some of the Ponys Pals! 🫏🦙

So we have been quiet for awhile, but have been busy planning BIG things! ✨️ And we are very excited to announce something near and dear to our hearts as women entrepreneurs! 🦸‍♀️

This past weekend we were fortunate to host the Melfort Sparks as part of their field trip! 🌟

Taking part in our Pony Pals Introduction to Horses, these young gals got to learn lots about horses from horses. They took part in a craft, got to hear Silver's special message and for many, get their first horseback riding experience.

We sailed from one end to the other until finally reaching land to dig up the treasure. 💰

Our journey had many lessons that had nothing to do with riding.....but everything to do with a horse helping us on our way! ❤️🐎

We know the power horses have to improve young girls self-confidence, it's witnessed everyday in the barn and the arena.

Our Story

EmPower U Equine was born out of the desire to help people become their most authentic self, while experiencing all that horses have to teach us. Equine Assisted Learning is a learner based educational experience, more specifically it is an effective approach to human development. We encourage individual and team growth in and fun and dynamic environment. EAL is NOT equine therapy. Here at EmPower U Equine we are Certified Equine Assisted Learning Facilitators that help our clients develop skills for life. We are loacted in northeastern Saskatchewan between the towns of Carrot River, Nipawin and Aylsham and operate out of Southern Cross Arena.
