Marvel and Forty have made huge progress in the month they have been with us!! Marvel came in with reactivity to other dogs and Forty had no impulse control around other dogs. Today is their last day with us and they are both focused and working 10 feet away from each other!! Your parents should be very proud of you! I know we are!!! 🥰❤️❤️
I absolutely love the drive that this guy has!! If given the choice to play or train he will choose training every time!! Today we were having some fun learning some new commands and he was even willing to work with another dog on the other side of the training area! LOVE LOVE LOVE working with this young boy!! ❤️🥰💕
SDIT Bella working around medical equipment. This is her first time exposed to wheelchairs! So very proud of her!!
Our Masters Class tonight practicing focus on their handlers with distractions and other dogs! They did pretty good for only being the second class!!
This was a huge accomplishment for Harvey!! He initially had a strong reaction and grabbed the leash but once he realized the dog wasn’t going away and wasn’t reacting back to him, he settled and watched. Yes he is stress panting but what we asked of him today was way beyond his normal threshold. He did amazing and we are very proud of him!
Ya gotta love these guys!! 🥰❤️🤣
Working on loose leash walking with focus. Forty did amazing walking on a busy street, through a car lot with customers and salesmen around and then back to the training center!! Good job my friend! We are proud of you!!
Training starts first thing in the morning. Hemi and Benny are learning to settle quietly with each other during play sessions and Forty is watching from his room and learning to be calm while he waits for his turn out. Every moment is a training opportunity!!
Marvel is learning that dogs can be a positive experience not negative and Forty is learning to be calm and neutral instead of a stimulus!! And my training apprentice is learning how to work with reactive dogs!!
Meet Hemi and Benny!! Benny is the baby who is learning to have basic good manners and walk on a leash and Hemi is learning to have impulse control around other dogs and proper recall when distracted. This video was their first play session together!! We are making friends!!
Well it’s a new month and we have a whole new group of friends to train at the center! Meet Marvel and Forty!! Marvel is here to help her learn that she doesn’t have to react to other dogs and Forty is learning to have impulse control in the presence of other dogs!! They both did amazing this morning!!

Part 2: Public access with SDIT Bella
Working on public access with SDIT Bella tonight. This is only her second time out in public and her first time in a busy store. We have been working with this sweet girl for about 6 months and she is doing so well considering her lack of experience and young age at this point in her training. I will post part 2 in another post. I clearly need to work on my recording skills 🤣
Jorja is learning to take commands from children as well as adults because dogs need to learn to listen to whoever is giving direction no matter how old or young they are!!
Jorja is with us one day a week for daycare so we try to work with her every time she’s here so she gets some mental stimulation as well as physical stimulation
Harvey - Part 2
Walking into our building in the morning with the dogs barking is a huge trigger for Harvey so this video is a HUGE step in the right direction for this sweet boy!!
We’ve been working with Harvey for about four weeks for extreme reactivity to other dogs. This is also compounded with a trauma response trigger to being corrected on the leash, so any type of pressure on the collar will lead to an outburst, resulting in grabbing the leash and violently shaking it, and barking and growling. we have spent the last few weeks teaching Harvey that he is in control of the pressure he creates by the level of his reactivity. We are also removing the collar pressure trigger and putting pressure on a different part of his body, allowing us to change the behavior by stripping away the layers of stress. We have never seen Harvey walk past barking dogs and remain this calm. We are so proud of this big boy!! Part two of this video will be posted right after this one.
