Hi everyone I just wanted to reach out as a reminder that the rescue is permanently closed. I DO NOT take in animals nor do I have any available for adoption/rehoming.

This page is strictly used as a means to contact me if you have any care questions for small animals, or as a place that I can share posts from other rescues.

I would also really appreciate it if whoever it is would stop contacting the City of North Bay and lying about the rescue still being open, thank you.

Thank you everyone for the donations! They will really help me to get the piggies healthy, and to feel spoiled for the first time in their lives. They are doing great, they just need to gain some weight before going to their forever homes!

Meet Jasper!

Jasper is a 4-5 year old male Guinea Pig. He's a BIG BOY. He loves to cuddle and play with children. He doesn't fuss during nail clippings and is an all around great boy.

Jasper is currently living in Espanola with Rebeka (his foster). He will come with his current cage(his cage is only acceptable as a temporary cage, he will need an upgrade), all of his belongings and any left over food, treats or hay.

Jasper would do best with another male, but up until this point in his life, he has been a solo pig.

I do have the help of a volunteer driver who may be able to drop Jasper off to you, depending on location.

Hello everyone, unfortunately the rescue will be closing down until sometime in the future where I can afford to rent/lease a location to run it. I'm very upset about having to close, but unfortunately due to circumstances out of my control it must be done.

I want to take a second to thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart, for all your help along the way, as without you none of this would have been possible. Your donations, adoption of animals, your questions about proper care and even just sharing the posts, have really helped not only me, but the animals in our area.

Any of the animals that are currently in my care, will sent to their forever homes, or surrendered to other rescues (luckily there aren't many without homes lined up). I will NOT be taking in any more animals.

Thank you all again for everything ❤️ and I eagerly await the day I can reopen in the future.

I'm asking for Amazon Wishlist Donations today rather urgently. I made a post a few days ago about 5 Guinea Pigs coming from a neglectful home. Unfortunately the situation was much much worse than I was expecting. Sadly before they could be dropped off to the rescue another one of the piggies has passed away. The picture below is of one of their cages. Yes.. there was a piggie living in this filth :(

The 4 remaining piggies are in rough shape, they all have long curled nails, likely have meites, they are malnourished and dehydrated. So anything purchased off this list is greatly appreciated and very much essential to them thriving.

I have found fosters and a family for them, and the male is staying here with me as a partner for the single male who lost his friend.

Hello Everyone, one of our rescue hams Shelby is in need of surgery to correct the Bumblefoot he has due to neglectful living conditions in his original home. We have tried to heal it ourselves but the vets think surgery is the only way to fix it.

The surgery for his Bumblefoot was quoted to us at $1000. We also had a $600 bill from one of the babies born in Kaya's car who unfortunately passed away.

Due to these circumstances we have created a GoFundMe for the total of $1600 in hopes of being able to fund Shelby's Bumblefoot surgery, antibiotics, and to recover the cost of the $600 visit in order to fund more supplies, and possible vet visits in the future.

If you'd prefer to etransfer either of us instead of sending through GoFundMe, our etransfers are as follows, and 100% of the funds will be put towards the $1600 vet bills. Any money raised over our $1600 goal will be used for supplies, and future vet bills.

🚨Urgently Looking for 1-3 Guinea Pig Fosters in or around North Bay Ontario🚨

Another rescue has messaged me and we are desperately searching for 1-3 people to foster guinea pigs. It was originally a herd of 7, but unfortunately 2 have passed away leaving 4 females and 1 male looking for fosters.

At the moment I unfortunately don't have much information other than this.

Chip is still waiting to find her forever home!

She is a 1 year old female Dwarf hamster. She loves Small Whimzees, yogurt drops and sweet potato Ge**er puffs. She is very friendly, loves to burrow, prefers to be scatter fed, and is super speedy on her wheel.

Mocha is looking for her furever home! She's just under 1 year old. She is a syrian hamster with an absolutely gorgeous fur pattern. She is super friendly but a bit shy when meeting new people. Her favorite treats are freeze dried chicken, mealworms (live or freeze dried), cucumber & blueberries. She is a HUGE fan of her wheel.

Mocha is located in North Bay Ontario.

Interested in a family pet? Interested in helping give a rescue animal a furever home? Then you've come to the right place! My rescue partner Kaya Zelonko has rescue hamsters looking for their furever homes! There are 3 baby girls & 1 baby boy available as well as a female Dwarf.

The rescue hamster babies are located in Sudbury, Ontario. Gemstone is being fostered in North Bay, Ontario. Transportation may be available depending on your location.

They can come with their 600 sqin enclosures and adequate sized wheels ( 10”+ wheel for the Syrians & 8” for Dwarfs ). They can come without their enclosures if you can provide proof that you already have an adequate setup of 600 sqin or larger.

Please remember that hamsters are noctournal and don’t typically wake up until around 8-9pm. They are mostly suitable for older children or a family pet where a parent can take responsibility and interact with the animal. Pet store hamsters typically live 2.5years, in some cases they can live 4+ years based on proper care. Unfortunately due to them being rescued we cannot guarantee the length of time they will love, but Little Paws Hamster Rescue does NOT adopt out sick/injured hamsters.

Aside from an approved adoption application, all hamsters have a small adoption fee, and if you need an appropriately sized enclosure there is a small fee for that as well, please message me for any further information!

If you aren’t 100% sure you are ready to adopt, we do offer foster and foster to adopt options. Thos allows you to see if your selected hamster is right for you and your family.

Is anyone able to foster or adopt these 2 cuties?

Meet Lily & Daisy, they are 4-5 year old female Guinea Pigs.
At the moment they are only used to lettuce and baby carrots in the mornings and hay and pellets at night. So they will need to be introduced to the proper daily veggies.

They have never been biters and are good cuddlers once you pick them up. They do act skittish at first when reaching for them. They are currently used to pine bedding, but I'd suggest switching to fleece. And they will also need to be upgraded to a larger enclosure, I'd recommend a 2x4 or 2x5 c&c cage.

These 4 female Syrian Hamsters were born on April 30th 2023 the day their mom was rescued. She unexpectedly gave birth in her rescuers car! We were a little worried because mom was so young, but she has done an amazing job, and all the babies are healthy and doing great!

They will be ready for their forever homes in 2 weeks.

There is 3 Grey & White and 1 White. These sweeties are located in Sudbury Ontario. But delivery may be available depending on your location.

Shelby is a 7 month old male Syrian Hamster. He’s very friendly, and very very active.

He usually wakes up for the day at 7pm. He should be taken out into a play pen nightly as he's very active in his tank.

He was previously housed in a tiny cage and has been upgraded to this tank since he chews through bin cages, and was chewing the bars of the prévue he was temporarily in.

He comes with everything (the tank and it's contents). If you already have a tank that’s 600+ sqin he can be adopted without his tank.

Delivery can potentially be arranged depending on location, but pickup in Sudbury is preferred.

UPDATE: He's Found a home.

Stormy is looking for his forever home.
He is a senior ham, and almost two (1 year 8 months old)

He is full of life and is very friendly. He will come with his bin cage setup.

His previous owner surrendered him due to allergies to him.

Stormy is currently living in Sudbury with Kaya Zelonko and pickup is preferred, however we may be able to have him delivered if we can find a volunteer.

UPDATE: Shelby is still looking for a home. He is also being upgraded to a terrarium to hopefully help him calm down a little bit.

Shelby is looking for his forever home.
He is a 7 month old male Syrian Hamster.

Shelby is a very active boy who needs to come out every night and interact with you in a playpen or in the bathtub. He will come with the prévue cage he is currently living in as he’s not a fan of bin cages (chews through). He was previously living in a tiny cage and still has cage rage (biting and climbing the bars) unless he gets out for playtime. I think it would be in his best interest if whoever is adopting him places him in a 40 gal terrarium, 75 Gallon tank or an Ikea Detolf or Linnmon as he needs the extra space.

He usually wakes up at 7pm. He is very friendly, and fast!

Shelby is located in Sudbury with Kaya Zelonko pickup is preferred, but we may be able to find transportation for him from a volunteer.

Please consider donating them to Serenity Guinea Pig Rescue as they would like to help some more pregnant rat moms!

Do you have any spare ratty supplies?

We would like to help take on some more of the moms from the big rat rescue to help the other rescues. A good number of the females from the rescue have had large litters and are struggling to feed the pups. We have the space to take on a few more mom's to help out but I only have large cages available that won't be suitable for moms/babies.

I'd be happy to pay if you are asking for a reasonable amount for the cage 💗

We can also use any rat supplies sitting around collecting dust, if you don't need something anymore our rescues would love to use it.

I've just created a petition on Change.org to help spread awareness about the unethical items sold in Canada at petstores ( and other retailers) for hamsters (cages, care, habitat accessories, foods, etc) in hopes it will maybe help make a difference someday.

I have also filled the petition with lots of helpful information in regards to Hamster care as well if anyone is looking for a single place to find great information about ethical husbandry and care!
