90% water change done for Thomas’s 125 gallon tank! Check out his amazing group of male German Red Peacocks! They are stunning fish and I was lucky enough to grab 2 of these beauties off him for my home aquarium! Thomas has some breeding projects on the go right now, I’m excited to see how much the fry that we stripped from some of his females have grown the next time we get together!

90% WC 1x per week keeps this heavily stocked 75 Mbuna tank below 40ppm nitrates! There is no magical number when it comes to your water change regime, it is solely based on your nitrate levels and the bio load that YOU have in your tank!

The importance of Gravel Vacuuming!

Decaying food, plant matter and dead fish are the number one things that can spoil aquarium water! Be sure atleast once a month to remove decor and thoroughly gravel vacuum your tank to eliminate anaerobic bacteria build up in your substrate! 👍🏻🐟

3 stages of Msobo Maturity!

(1st Photo) As juveniles this is how all Msobo are illustrated, a deep orange coloured body. They are a sexually dimorphic species, while females will remain this colour as they mature, males begin to take on a rich, rather dark blue.

(2nd Photo) As the males mature, fins begin to transform along with head pattern around their face. They can colour up or colour down depending on hierarchy status within the aquarium.

(3rd photo) This male is on his way to full maturity, with his entire body completely consumed in that rich, dark blue. As he matures, a rather lighter blue streaking will appear across his sides and face.

Africans cichlids are among the many fascinating species of the aquatic world and are very sought after! Pictures of fish are from my current collection in my show tank! 🤩🐟

Another Happy Customer! 🙌🏻

Thomas reached out to me Thursday evening after returning home from a work trip to a 75g tank half empty on his floor! His plan was to find a used larger aquarium to house his peacock & hap collection, and have his 75g resealed by us at a later date. After searching Friday/Saturday and unfortunately having a deal fall through on a large tank, he managed to pick up a brand new 125g ensemble for himself! Thomas asked if I would come by Saturday and help him with the transition. We started off by transferring aragonite from his previous tanks over into the 125 and with a great selection of rock & spider wood that he provided, he left the creativity of the scape up to me. I’m really pleased with how it turned out, and seeing how much Thomas enjoyed his new tank made it all worth it to me.

Thomas it was a pleasure to meet you and the opportunity to share this really fun process with you. Great guy with a strong passion for the hobby, thank you so much for your business. I look forward to crossing paths in the near future! 😁🐟

My Dream Tank 😍 I can’t believe it’s mine, I’m so proud of what I’ve created with this setup! Big shoutout to one of my amazing customers who supplied me with all this gorgeous coral rock for the new hardscape!

This tank is an eye catcher and that’s exactly what I envisioned for it! 👀🐟

New hardscape for Cassandra’s tank! It turned out incredible; Now that the tank levels are stable again, next week we will be starting to add some new fish for her! Can’t wait! 😁🐟

•UPDATE: After our initial service with Natasha’s tank, she brought to my attention that the Brown Algae she’d been battling had returned after a few short days. This led me to believe that the substrate had been tainted pretty bad and I figured the only remedy to solve this reoccurring problem would be to remove and replace the substrate altogether. With her tank inhabitant being a cichlid, I recommended that we switch over to sand, so that’s what we did. Natasha also advised to me that she was not necessarily happy with the background in place and figured a solid colour on the back would really bring out her fishes colour. I recommended that we paint the background black to match her stand, and again that’s what we did! After a late night removing substrate, rinsing sand and with Natasha’s wonderful help painting the background, this tank looks amazing!

That smile sure says it all! 😁🐟
