Pet of the Month for May is… Gracie!!!
Gracie is a very sweet, easy going girl and it’s always a pleasure to see her at the clinic. She is very loved by her family. Here’s what her family has to say:
Gracie was found by the SPCA, wandering the streets of Prince George and was then relocated to the Vancouver SPCA where she jumped out of the cage and came to live with us at 10 months of age.
Gracie (or “Gracie Petunia” if she’s in trouble … which is virtually never …) is a very sweet, gentle kitty who wouldn’t hurt a fly (… well maybe a fly … she loves the bugging hour at dusk). She’s a little shy, but a scratch under her chin or cheek will produce the sweetest of purrs.
Gracie is 13 1/2 years old and loves to sleep in till noon, but once she’s up and gets that bug in her brain, she can run around the house acting like a 6 year old. Her favourite thing to play with is a scrunched up bill receipt thrown across the room.
She lives with an obnoxiously friendly American Staffordshire Terrior and an 8 month old SPCA kitty, who would both desperately love to play with her, but if Gracie could talk, she would tell you that “all dogs and kittens are dumb” and will have nothing to do with them.
People are struck by the colour of Gracie’s blue eyes and the softness and colouring of her coat (she has a brown patch of fur shaped like a heart on her right side), but if Gracie could talk she would tell you her most beautiful feature is her beautiful fluffy tail. She loves to strut by you and let you grab her tail as she walks by.
Gracie is not only beautiful, she’s smart too. Anything for a treat - Gracie’s repertoire of tricks include Sit, Turn, Around, High Five, Sit Pretty and Roll Over.
Gracie receives the finest of medical care by all the staff at North Shore. If Gracie could talk, she would say “Thank you, each and every one of you! Your friendly and knowledgeable care is very much appreciated.”
