Dog Walking service in North and West Vancouver We only take social dogs, that enjoy being in forested trails with other dogs.

The Black Dog Cookie House offers group walks that are one hour in length, and are conducted on many different trails across the North Shore. Our purpose is to offer fun and safe walks for dogs of all sizes and age, so that they can come home exercised, with a big smile on their face.

Happy, happy 5th birthday, Louie (yesterday)! This picture was snapped by his family, as he was waiting for our birthday cake! Love you so much, big fluffy funny boy! It’s been fun watching you grow up - and looking forward to many more years having fun together! ❤️❤️

Happy anniversary to our Chance! It was on this day 14 years ago that we officially adopted him (a week after meeting him). Bonnie from Cross our Paws took this picture. Chance was found wandering the streets of Kamloops when he was just around 9 months old. Nobody claimed him. He shut down in the shelter - wouldn’t eat or respond. They called Bonnie as a last resort - saying that she was his last chance. So she drove to pick him up - and named him Chance. One of the first pictures we took of him captured him in a typical pose - with his paws crossed. We thought it was especially funny, given that he came from “Cross our Paws.” The second picture here was taken today. In the same pose again, our beautiful boy now at 15. Thank you Bonnie; your legacy will live on in all the animals you saved and found great homes for. So grateful forever for you. And so grateful for our Great Big White Love.

Happy 4th birthday, Shadow!! As you can see, he had to be controlled not to go for the cake! And then apparently it was gone in seconds! 😂 Glad that you had a fun birthday, with the appropriate celebration! Here’s to many more! XO

Happy 13th birthday, Sami! This little girl may be a senior now, has only one (fading) eye, and is pretty much completely deaf - but she still has s***k!! She still joins us on group walks and bosses around her friends as she always has. We love you, little Gremlin! ❤️

Happy 12th birthday to “our” Mar-Mar (Marley) (from Nov. 19th)! As you can see, he had a great birthday - first with his friends and us in the woods; and then he got spoiled at home by his family! You make us so happy buddy - love you so much! ❤️

We are deeply shocked and saddened by this news. We had a special connection to Bonnie, as we got our Chance from her 14 years ago, and still get to enjoy him today. She was a special soul - that rescued other special souls and shared them with deserving people. We’re all so lucky to have had her in our lives. Whatever help we could give her rescue over the years never seemed enough, compared to what she did herself. Surely she must be in pet heaven now, welcomed by so many that love her and went before her. We will miss you, Bonnie.

Today marks the 12 year anniversary of my sister Christiane passing away from cancer. She was only 46 years old. Some of you will remember her, as she helped me walk your dogs in early years. She loved them all so much. I miss her so much, every day. If you’re indulging this weekend, please raise a glass to her. She was one of the best souls this Earth has ever had. You can be assured that she’s with those of your dogs that have passed away. She wouldn’t want to be in any other kind of heaven. 💔

Happy 15th birthday to our Chance!! We love him so very much, and are so happy and grateful that we still get to share our lives with him, and that he’s still happy and enjoying life! And he still gets to see all of your dogs every day - they all adore him, and even though he doesn’t get to join us on group walks anymore, he still loves seeing all of this friends daily. Tonight he will have his 38th birthday cake (adding up all the ones he shared with his siblings as well). What an incredible dog. How did we get so lucky? So much love. ❤️

Happy anniversary, Sunshine Betty! It was on this day 3 years ago that you came on your trial walk. You couldn’t wait for months to join your big brother Buster - and finally you got to come along! It’s only been fun and joy since then for both you and us - doggie friends and people! Love you lots!

The crazy little dog brigade on 2 separate days! Idefix, Frankie-Stein, Diva, and Nala (with an appearance of Marley and Lily). Note that they’re all wearing red coats on that one day is a total fluke! 😂

For all of you that have a senior dog with a bratty younger sibling, like our Chance and Idefix…and yet the love for each other is there!

Happy, happy 7th birthday to Moose-ie!! (From April 12th). He shares his birthday with his Mom, so we hope that they had a wonderful day together! We love you lots, funny Moose-ini!❤️ (He got that name beause he used to escape his yard a lot - even though it had been reinforced - and that’s how we met him, as he lives across the street from us and came to visit 😂)

Another great snow hike, with more fresh snow! We started with freezing pelting rain as I drove around doing pick-ups; and this is what we got on our hike 10 minutes up the hill, as we walked through a blizzard! We all had so much fun! Here is my group: Idefix, Diva, Marley, Finn, Nutty, and Frankie! We love the North Shore! (Funny enough I noticed this morning that our mini daffodils had just opened, and the peonie buds are peaking through the dirt in our garden!)

Happy 10th birthday, Dixie girl! Her Mom sent us the best picture from today of her with her cake - but Facebook doesn’t allow me to post both a picture and video. So here is the video of the day we first met her at 8 weeks of age (she finally becomes more brave at the end), which must be shared! You’ll just have to go on our Instagram to see the picture as well…Happy birthday Dixie, we love you so much! ❤️
