We offer a wide range of individual and group lesson programs open to riders ages 5 to adult. We can accommodate all skill levels from beginner up to the advanced, competitive rider. Lesson programs are based on Equine Canada’s Learn to Ride national curriculum and are taught by Equine Canada certified Instructors and Coaches. West Wind can administer the rider level testing if riders choose to ob

tain their certification as they progress through the levels. With all of the riding lessons West Wind offers class room/hands on theory classes to educate the riders on horse care, stable management, and riding techniques. West Wind has a variety of school horses available for rent on a per lesson basis ranging in skill level matched to meet the needs of all level of riders. West Wind offers full service boarding in a new facility built to the highest standards with all of the amenities. Your horse will receive top-notch care by dedicated, experienced personnel. By looking after all your horse's day-to-day necessities, we leave the owner with peace of mind. West Wind will also act as a liaison between the veterinarian, farrier, and other professionals that may need to attend to the horse.

A couple weeks ago I was asked to work on a staff portrait project for based out of
I, of course, was happy to do the job!
I'll be sharing those images over the next few weeks.
Today we have Rogun.
This huge, handsome boy loves posing for the camera, scratches behind his ears, being brushed by littles, and deep deep whiffs of coffee...I'm sure he'd drink it too, if I let him!
Rogun is just one of the many amazing equine staff in the Prairie Strides program.

Since 1977, Prairie Strides Inc. has been making a difference in the lives of children with disabilities through adaptive horseback riding! 🐴 Their mission is to help children thrive by using horses for connection, balance, physical improvement, and social and emotional growth.

Prairie Strides offers an engaging riding program for kids aged 5 to 15, benefiting those with cerebral palsy, visual impairments, autism, and other developmental challenges. The program, led by trained instructors and supported by volunteer therapists, provide both fun and therapeutic benefits.

They operate solely on the generosity of the community, with no government assistance. Fundraising and donations are crucial to their success.

Looking for something to do this weekend? Come on out to Birdshill Park, watch some fabulous Athletes participate in the Manitoba Hunter Jumper Association Summer Smiles horse show out at Birdshill Park.

We are in Barn B, stop by to visit! Or catch us when we are walking by!

Parking is by grand Prix ring for Spectators. Canteen, food trucks will be on-site.
