At Leash and Keys we offer private one-on-one excursions within your neighbourhood, so your dog will never need to travel in a car or be grouped together with others. Our services are available exclusively within Oakville and our policy is to always send the same Pet Concierge, meaning the highest security for your home and the best friendship for your pets. In addition to walking your dog, we als

o offer home visits for cats, parrots and bunnies. If you are away on business or enjoying a vacation and don’t want the expense, associated health risks or worry of boarding your pets, leave it all to us. With the Leash and Keys Pyjama Party Programme, we’ll be there to tuck your pets in for the night, providing comfort and companionship if needed. In the morning, they'll get a walk and breakfast or treats and we'll secure your home before leaving. If you are an established Leash and Keys client, we also offer on-call emergency coverage if you’re delayed at work, stuck in traffic or unexpectedly away.

We are heart broken to share our little Laverne crossed the Rainbow Bridge this past week. Though we'll never know her actual age, our best guess was about 15, so given her very rough start in life, she still managed to hang in there well beyond our expectations. She stopped eating and then drinking, no matter what we tried, so she went out on her own terms, much like how she lived. Laverne's story is a testament to the success of reputable rescue organizations (Canadian Dachshund Rescue), that patience will be rewarded and unconditional love prevails. We miss her so much!

It's been a very emotional week. A very dear client (Dad to Daisy the Bernese) passed away last weekend after a brave 3 year battle with cancer. We will miss Darin terribly. Then I was told my sweet Newshoes went out exploring in his neighborhood & never came back ....his parents felt his joy of the outdoors offset the obvious dangers to domestic pets in the southwest area of Oakville. He had a beautiful catio they built him but still they felt he wanted/needed to roam. I guess it's the age old argument: keep them happy or keep them safe. I doubt he was happy in his final few moments when the Coyotes got him.
And, sweet Gandalf the white Flemish bunny passed from an ongoing gastric issue. So the week has been very sad , but last night after visitation at the funeral home I was puppy sitting this little guy and that's just the kind of therapy needed for a battered heart.
