💦 End of Summer Swimming Safety Tips for Your Pup!🐾
As summer winds down, don't forget to keep your furry friend safe in the water! Here are some essential tips:
1️⃣ **Watch Out for Blue-Green Algae**: Found in slow-moving creeks, rivers, and lakes. This algae can be harmful if ingested or in contact with the skin, leading to neurological and liver issues. It's tough to identify, so it's best to avoid any areas with large amounts of algae. 🌱
2️⃣ **Always Use a Life Jacket**: Your pet may love swimming, but they can get fatigued quickly. A life jacket will keep them safe, even if they push themselves too far. 🛟
3️⃣ **Dry Your Pet Thoroughly**: After swimming, make sure to towel dry your pup, focusing on their ears, groin, and armpits to reduce the risk of hot spots. 🧼
Enjoy the water and keep your pet safe! 🌊

Feeding your small animal a high-quality diet is crucial for their long-term health! 🌟
For rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas, we suggest giving them measured portions of high-quality pellets. ✔️
Ensure they have access to hay around the clock. ✔️
It's important to note that unless your veterinarian prescribes it, alfalfa hay should only be given to young growing animals.
Feel free to discuss your pet's diet during their annual wellness check-up. 🤗

Lucy was our patient today! 🥰 Her family makes her dental health a priority as they know it can impact her long-term health. They practice diligent home care 🪥 and have her teeth cleaned with us annually to help prevent dental disease!
Did you know? Around 80% of dogs and over 50% of cats aged three years and older encounter dental issues. 😱
🌟Lucy day started with her pre operative exam and bloodwork. This is to ensure health status so we can tailor her treatment plan to her needs and take all precautions to have a safe general anesthetic.
🌟She was then sedated and had an IV catheter placed so she could receive fluids throughout her procedure.
🌟Many dental concerns occur below the gum line, making X-rays, probing, and a thorough tooth by tooth exam the only way to diagnose these concerns. Lucy got the all-clear, so her treatment did not include extractions.
🌟We then clean the tooths surface above and below the gum line. Finishing the cleaning portion of treatment with a polish!
🌟Lucy did have mild gingivitis, so her treatment included laser therapy!
🌟To finish off her day, she enjoyed some post-operative snuggles!
