Please help us in Welcoming our newest Veterinarian to the NOAH family. Dr. Natasha Asotra completed a Bachelors in Science in Animal Biology from the University of Guelph before graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2013. After graduating she worked for a couple of years in the Kawartha Lakes enjoying everything that cottage country had to offer including middle of the night C-sections and pulling endless porcupine quills from dogs! After a couple of years she moved to downtown Toronto where she worked downtown for 9 years as the primary veterinarian and medical director. After welcoming a baby girl to their family Dr. Natasha moved to Oakville and is so grateful to have found a team that she could feel at home with in the staff at North Oakville Animal Hospital. She hopes to become a familiar face and she looks forward to meeting all of the clients and their furry family members!

Indigenous Peoples Day holds profound significance for me, particularly as a member of the Oneida Nation of the Thames and the grandchild of a residential school survivor. It is a day to acknowledge their pain and recognize their courage in preserving our culture and traditions in the face of immense adversity. This day also allows me to celebrate and teach my son our rich history, vibrant cultures, and the diverse contributions of Indigenous peoples to society. It's hot out! 🔥
During this hot weather, it is a good idea to be aware of the symptoms of heat stroke: Such as, excessive panting/difficulty breathing, excessive drooling, lethargy/weakness, vomiting/diarrhea.
If you suspect your dog may have heat stroke take them to a cool area immediately, try to bring their temperature down with cool or tepid water (not cold), offer them cool/tepid water to drink (again, not cold), call your veterinary clinic as soon as possible even if they seem to be recovering. We may need to monitor them for things like, dehydration or shock and can advise you on your next steps.
