🦷 February is Dental Health Month 🦷
A common question we get is: “is brushing my pet’s teeth really necessary?”
The answer is YES! 🪥✨
Daily brushing is ideal, but we know it can be a challenge (especially if your pet has mastered the art of escape!). Feel free to ask our veterinarians tips on how to incorporate brushing into your routine!
🐾 Why Dental Care Matters:
Without regular care, plaque hardens into tartar, leading to painful gum disease, tooth decay, and even infections that can affect the heart, kidneys, and liver. A little effort now can prevent serious (and costly) problems later!
💡 How to Start Brushing:
1️⃣ Make pet-safe toothpaste a treat!
2️⃣ Introduce tools gradually—start small!
3️⃣ Use praise, treats & patience.
4️⃣ Try a finger brush or washcloth if a toothbrush is too much.
5️⃣ If brushing isn’t an option, explore dental diets, chews, or vet-approved water additives!
If your pet resists brushing, discomfort could be a factor. A dental check-up can rule out painful issues and set your pet up for success. 💙
