The Brant County Health Unit (BCHU) has confirmed a human case of rabies in a local resident, with suspected exposure from a bat in the Timiskaming region. Bats, skunks, foxes, and raccoons are common carriers of rabies in Canada, and even a small bite or scratch can transmit the virus. This case highlights the importance of staying vigilant and ensuring your pets are protected!
