"After a long journey from Ontario I felt that my dog needed a break to play and relax. After a Google search I found The Barklay Pet Resort. I'm am so appreciative for the care that Winnie ( my Shih Tzu) received. I got updates with pictures. And I can truly say that she has never come home from a boarding facility as happy or clean!! The staff are so welcoming and friendly. The rates are very reasonable. Such a wonderful experience. Wish I could take "Barklay's" home with me. A friendly reminder that we have specific hours for drop-offs and pick-ups for our daycare and boarding services. Here are the details:

• 7:45am - 9:30am: Open for drop-offs and pick-ups

• 4:00pm - 6:00pm: Open for drop-offs and pick-ups

These designated times ensure safety for all dogs in our care and allow our staff to maintain a regular routine for the dogs. During the closed hours (9:30am - 4pm), our staff are outside with the dogs and unable to leave the playgroup sessions unattended.

Perfect for Halloween, these delicious goodies are sure to make your pup's tail wag!

Follow the recipe below and treat your furry friend to some Halloween fun!

🎃 Preheat the oven to 350 F.
🎃 In a large bowl, mix together eggs, cinnamon, pumpkin, flour, salt and peanut butter. This mixture will become stiff, dry and crumbly really quickly when first mixing.
🎃 Add a little bit of water to help moisten the ingredients, then you will be able to work and knead the dough. Only add a tablespoon or so as you go. You want the dough to end up being a dry and thick consistency.
🎃 Flour your countertop and roll the dough out to be about a ½ inch thick. Use your cookie cutters to cut out individual treats and place on a greased baking sheet. 🎃 You don’t need to separate them a ton, they don’t rise much.
🎃 You will have left over dough after cutting out the first batch of treats. Quickly knead and roll out the dough left over dough to make even more!
🎃 Bake for about 35 minutes or until hard. Serve to your fur-baby! They will be living their best doggy life!

🤍 Meet Emily! 🤍

Emily has dedicated her life to caring for animals of all shapes and sizes. With experience in both small and large animal industries, she has worked with milking cows, owned horses, raised sheep, and even served as a farrowing manager at a pig barn.

Her professional journey began at the Humane Society in Ontario, where she spent 8 years. Starting as an Animal Care Attendant, Emily quickly rose to the role of Canine Coordinator. In this position, she assisted with adoptions, matched dogs with their perfect homes, rehabilitated those with behavior and aggression issues, and trained staff on canine behavior.

Emily is certified in Canine Behavior and Aggression Therapy, utilizing Positive Reinforcement techniques to ensure the best outcomes for the animals she works with. Before joining The Barklay, she spent 2.5 years at a Dog Daycare and Boarding Kennel in Ontario.

Now, Emily calls The Barklay property home, where she lives with her three dogs—Ollie, Marlene, and Roo—and her four cats—Pippin, Bucket, Buddy, and Monkey.
