Thanks to the wind the driveway is pretty sketchy as soon as it dies down I will get it plowed but probably not till tomorrow drive safe and stay warm everyone

Huge shout out to Kathy and my dad for challenging the roads to do evening chores. Well I stupidly went to edmonton and back.
Made it safe and sound just took forever.
Roads suck. Horrifically suck. The 552 overpass should be clear now but still snowpacked and icey.
80th street coming toward the farm is a toboggan ride and the back driveway is currently impassable. Thank god for the time change but I am still off to a bit of a slow start.
Should have driveway good by about 1:30 -2 just ask before you head out and drive safe this is wild.
THIS NEXT WEEK IS COLD IF YOU WANT YOUR HORSIES ATTIRE UPGRADED OR PUT ON LET ME KNOW.

The driveway has been cleared roads are still icy but is a much better day if you want to come visit your ponies. Drive safe. The yard has not been 100% finished but we're all used to juggling around each other anyway.

For my beautiful borders the driveway is not currently possible it will be cleared by tomorrow at noon we have some pretty nasty drifts. All ponies are coping well and surviving just fine thank goodness this wind has died down.

Welcoming a recovery newbie Cloe and the good ol prarie sky, a couple of the derp dogs one finds around here goats,bunnies, greens and the heavens reminding us every day is a blessing. Shout out to all the wonderful boarders that make this piece of heaven what it is. Lots to do but you and your ponies keep me goin.

Sales ponies went over the rails. Was a super wierd weather day but managed to make use of the sunshine.

Some pictures of the soon to be new pasture and the big herd till we start shuffling everyone around to get ready for spring harrowing and pasture.
The melting is insane so greatful for the moisture. I wish it could happen without the mud and ice.

Well now is as good as any other time. Everyone is almost back for winter
The ones who are are settling into their herds.
Winter prep to take place on Sunday, every one is welcome to come and help if they can.

Congratulations to Fire and her two legged momma on a almost exact replica. Momma and filly are doing great and hitting all the major mile stones. August 4th snuck it in sometime between 4 and 8 this morning.
Its official I am now able to sleep again.

So we have an exciting summer ahead .......
As the farm truck is once again running pasture shuffles and harrowing shall commence.
Finish up the fence lines behind the quanset and down the other side of the road.
New for this year. A porta potty will be arriving July. YAY
we ask that if at all possible to avoid using the smaller pens (I know I am right now lol but very soon to be empty) to get them all cleaned out and new fencelines installed. If you do use it after they have been scraped clean please use the poo fork and bucket that will miraculously appear.
The arena which is being mildly inconvenienced by the round pen shall also be recieving a new and prettier facelift followed by paint.
Round pen will move to its permanent home.
There will be 2 new tie rails and if we get real lucky we may even have an outdoor wash rack set up. (Only good for the summer but hey)

Day riding through the coulee as it will be horseless can commence fingers crossed tomorrow. Happy riding if any of these thing make your life more difficult when you are out let me know and we will see how we can switch up our work day.

Some goodbyes are hard to face.
I love all the horses that are here. All the ones I have ever worked with and loosing yours hurts me as bad as my own. I do this for 2 reasons 1 ) I just have too its part of my love of horses.
2) if for some reason you are unable to be here the horse knows and trusts me too and they do not have to be alone or with strangers.

In the last 2 months we have lost 2 it is a harsh reality to retirement both ladies lived full beautiful lives. It was my absoloute honor to be with them till their new beginning.
V***n was a spicey soul and I did not want to post it.Made her goodbye real and after hundred of hours hanging out with the old bird I did not wish to bid her farewell here.
Sassy had an equally beautiful soul in a completely different way. She looked after my kids and was the definition of a childrens unicorn. V***n was lost to this world end of March just before she turned 26 in April.
Sassy we said goodbye in the first hours Weds morning at the beautiful age of 26.
It is a hard loss but at the sametime beautiful.
The quietness and space at the farm wont ever be filled. I was blessed to be there and to hold both. I always will.

Unfortunately rules are rules, due to the fact that we are all out doors and we dont run lessons you may still continue to come and care for and excersize your animals.
We will make it through this together.

Yesterday we said goodbye to the original Ornament acres resident, there will be a post dedicated to her later. Today was soooooooo windy! Everyone is looking good in the sunshine.
Anyone who knows me, knows the poo drives me crazy. It has finally started to melt enough I can start raking and shoveling again ......... soooon it will be warm enough to harrow.

Fed, bundled, switched around everyone is looking good through this snap. Just one trough needs a de icer all the rest are holding out really well. We have been through so so sooo much worse but its always hard well its here.

Thoroughbreds and warmbloods wrapped up in their blankies.
Quarters and paints giggled "look at those babies"
The big percheron shouted "hey! where’d you all go?!"
He had not even noticed the snow start to blow.
Fjord ponies frolicked as temps start to drop.
But should I consider this whole day a flop?
Take a page from the horse, they are wise, they’ve been through it.
Just go butts to the wind and you'll find you can do it!
