{Weigh in Day} it's been so long since we've had an actual weight on Smudge so it's been a bit of mystery. Well today while we had Jasper at the vet we solved the mystery! Sad and heartbroken our little Lotus crossed over the rainbow bridge 💔 She has had her fair share of health challenges right from the very start of her life and she lived far longer then any of us thought she would. Only 5 short years but she brought us so much joy. She was the sweetest girl, always happy to share bed with any animal that came into the house. Her favorite time of year was pumpkin season! Arriving home she always greeted everyone with her fast pace grunts and of course her 15 minutes of fame on the TV show Love Nature! She has really missed her buddy Chewy who passed away last year and we know she's sharing pumpkin with him, running pain free with no more crazy leg and no more torturous snotty snout wipes. Pigs are such a big part of our family and anyone who knows me will know this crushes my soul. Pigs bring a special kind of happy and losing them leaves a void. 💔

{ Happy Holidays} We had a great Christmas & New Years and we wish all of you a blessed 2023. Our elevated and turning tree was left intact with decorations and standing upright for the entire Christmas season. That my friends ... is success! 🤣

Rosa is doing amazing and we are so grateful to everyone for the donations both through the gofundme as well as direct to the vet office! Our hearts are full to see so much love for Rosa and we can see already that the amputation was the best decision! 💕 We are only a few hundred dollars away from being able to pay off her surgery! We've raised over $2000 to put towards her $2800 surgery. If you'd still like to help out I'll post the go fund me in the comments or message me directly. 💕

{ 1 week until surgery } check up with our amazing vet Willow Park Animal Clinic It's 1 week until Rosa's big surgery to have her leg amputated. If you missed the last post we were asked to care for Rosa due to a birth defect that has left her with nonfunctional leg. We didn't know the extent of her care when we took her in but it didn't matter she needed us. We've had many people ask how they can help and we are so grateful for all the support as the cost of her surgery, her prosthetic and ongoing physio & chiro is already estimated to be in the thousands.
(Approximate costs surgey $2500, prosthetic $2200, chiro & physio $150 week ongoing ) . If you'd like to be a part of Rosa's journey and receive personal updates of how she's doing we will be grateful for any support you can manage. Even $5 helps Rosa. {Jackson} I sure miss this guy.🥰 Being deaf and needing extra medical care meant it took alittle longer to find him his furever home but the wait was worth it. He was adopted by an amazing couple from Edmonton. We opened up our home for them to stay the night so they could really get to know Jackson and be sure they were a fit for each other. I love the photos they send of Jackson enjoying his first pup cup from Starbucks and lazing around on their comfy bed! It was really hard to say goodbye but I stay focused on the goal and the enjoyment I get when a dog comes into care at and our family can love and train them for their new homes! It's been one year since we started fostering with and the experience is amazing. I highly recommend them as a place to volunteer and foster through. Jackson was our 4th foster (well technically 12th if you include the 8 puppies that came with our first foster lol)💕

Saturday is their big Jail and Bail fundraiser please pop down to the Calgary aarcs location to support them! I'll post the info in my stories! See you there!! 😘
