This is something everyone should see. This xray is of a 2 week old puppy.

When you get your 8/10 week old puppies, please keep this image in mind. Their bones do not even touch yet. They plod around so cutely with big floppy paws and wobbly movement because their joints are entirely made up of muscle, tendons, ligaments with skin covering. Nothing is fitting tightly together or has a true socket yet.

When you run them excessively or don't restrict their exercise to stop them from overdoing it during this period you don't give them a chance to grow properly. Every big jump or excited bouncing run causes impacts between the bones. In reasonable amounts this is not problematic and is the normal wear and tear that every animal will engage in.

But when you're letting puppy jump up and down off the lounge or bed, take them for long walks/hikes, you are damaging that forming joint. When you let the puppy scramble on tile with no traction you are damaging the joint.

You only get the chance to grow them once. A well built body is something that comes from excellent breeding and a great upbringing-BOTH, not just one.

Once grown - around 12-18 months depending on their breed, you will have the rest of their life to spend playing and engaging in higher impact exercise. So keep it calm while they're still little baby puppies and give the gift that can only be given once.

Good evening everyone.
I wanted to tell you how my day when..
I had a full fun day of Trails .
Did receive one ribbon .

Where we are having this Dog Show.
It is like a Dog’s Disneyland .

Lots of open areas to practice and play with my new friends.
WILL - there is a exception to that rule .
We can only play with each other when our Parents give us permission🐾

After the show some of me new friends got to swim in the Canal..

Di & Pat would not let me- because I when to the
Doggie Spa yesterday.

That was ok - they took me to the off lead running area.

Wow, there are a lot of awesome smells out in the country fields.

I am still keeping my Paws Crossed.
Sunday before we go home.
They will let be swim in the Canal.

My my, that wet dog smell all the way home 🫣
Sweet dreams everyone

Good Morning Everyone
If you were wondering how I did on the weekend.
In Agility Trials I received a 4th & 2nd .
Pat & Di are so pleased with me .

I really like Agility - walking that plank
/ going up & down the A- frame .
My favourite is the weave & tunnels 🐾

I have something to confess…
My nose distracted me ( it got me in trouble) a few times in the ring.
I was spot on - doing excellent in the Agility ring.
Boom, some SMELL catches my attention .
I become a Greyhound running - everywhere to that imaginary finish line. Lol
Hey, did I ever tell you.
That a few years ago .
I did pass my Scent Detection Trails .

I appreciate the good wishes you all sent me .
I am the luckiest girl ever .
The Nationals are at Spruce Meadows in July.
And I am going- I have the best parents ever.

WELL - I have to tell you a Secret🤫
Pat & Di did disappointed me .
Because I did not get to swim in the Canal on Sunday.
Oh well, I guess I can not always have my way!!
Lot of Licks🐾

As some of you know.
We sold our 5th wheel & purchase a motor home.
It will be our Hotel traveling to the Dog Shows
🐾🏆🐾.

This weekend we did our first camping outing with Token and our experienced Amber.
Amber was very helpful- explaining proper
Doggie etiquette to Token when camping.

However, Amber forgot to tell Token
that it’s a No-No to sit in the driver seat. Lol
Amber, was such a “GOOD SISTER “ .
Coming to Help Token carry the firewood!!!

Pat , got Token fitted with her life jacket -
She probably thinking
“ Pat !!”
I am a retriever - So WHY do I have to wear this ridiculous life jacket 😏
All in all it was a super first camping experience.

Wow, what an experience this past weekend Token and I competed in my first dog show competing in the Rally Obedience trials at the novice level, which is the first step. You need three qualifying scores of at least 70 of a possible 100 to earn a title. On Friday afternoon we were a connected team. As the handler I was deducted two points for a tight lead and at the last station she was to stay in a down while I walked around her, she popped up and we had to due a re-try which is a 3point deduction. We finished with a 95 which was so awesome finishing in 5 place out of 23 dogs.
Saturday was a crazy day, we were in the first group at 8am. There were tons of distractions with four rings of confirmation happening on the other side of the building. I completed a task which I was supposed to stop and pause at the end of before moving on to the next station but I just walked straight through it which cost us a 10 point deduction, that added to some handler errors resulting in an 85 as our final score which still was a qualifying score. So in 2 days we had earned 2/3 legs required for Novice Rally Obedience title.
On Sunday we were once again had a mid-morning time. We were not as connected as on Friday. My Token had a mind of her own, and being a Golden with a keen nose she had it on the ground smelling ever dog that had been on course. We completed the course with a score of 89 which was good enough for fourth place and our first big ribbon.
For a first timer competing, the support I was given by fellow competitors and my coach Nancy, I am grateful for.
I am hooked.
