Happy Tails Cat Rescue Society

Happy Tails Cat Rescue Society Happy Tails Cat Rescue Society is an incorporated not for profit animal rescue in the South Okanagan. So what does our rescue do?

Rescuing cats and helping them live their best lives is a passion for us. We help cats that need love and care. We work to advocate for cats and help them find their forever home. We work to stop unwanted litters of kittens by helping to spay and neuter cats. Our rescue is operated out of a home and all cats and kittens in our care are either housed here or placed with loving foster homes. We beli

eve this will help their personalities show and thrive and better enable us to match a cat with their purr-fect adopter. We ensure all kitties in our care get the vet care they need including shots, deworming, microchip, spay or neuter. We are working hard to reduce the feral population in our service area through spay and neuter and TNR (Trap-Neuter-Release) programs. Our adoption process aims at matching the right humans with their purr-fect pet. We believe that every animal is worthy of a stable environment, food, water, affection and humane care. We are always here to help and are always advocating for cats.

Cheeto & Nacho ~ 15 week old bonded neutered brothers

Double the Ginger, Double the Love! 🧔🧔

Meet Cheeto (lighter orange) and Nacho (darker orange) — two adorable ginger brothers ready to find their forever home together! At just 15 weeks old, they are everything people adore about ginger kittens: sweet, affectionate, confident, and endlessly fun.

Outgoing and social, these boys happily greet anyone who walks through the door—no shy kittens here! They love people and get along wonderfully with other cats, fitting right in with the hustle and bustle of a loving home.

When playtime winds down, Cheeto and Nacho turn into expert snugglers. They’ll happily flop down anywhere—preferably on a human—and at night they love curling up in bed with their people. If you’re dreaming of built-in kitten cuddles, these two deliver in spades.

Cheeto and Nacho are a bonded pair who truly thrive together and must be adopted as a duo. In return, you’ll get double the purrs, double the laughs, and double the love.

If you have room in your home—and your heart—for two amazing ginger boys, please reach out. Their happily-ever-after is waiting, and they can’t wait to share it with you. 🐾🧔

šŸ’™ Important Update: Adoption Fee Adjustment šŸ’™

We want to be transparent with our community and share an important update regarding our adoption fees.

Over the past several months, all three of our veterinary partners have had to raise their prices — two earlier this year and the third just a couple of months ago. Even with these increases, they continue to give us an incredible rescue rate, and without their generosity, we simply would not be able to operate.
In addition to rising veterinary fees, we also cover ongoing medication costs, as well as all food and litter for the cats and kittens in our care while they are with us. With our current adoption fees, we are no longer able to recover even the basic veterinary expenses for each cat.

As a result of rising costs across the board, many rescues have had to increase their adoption fees as well. Unfortunately, this is a reality being felt throughout the rescue community.

As a not-for-profit rescue that relies heavily on bottle donations and community support, we cannot afford to continue operating at a fee structure that doesn't allow us to recover the vet fees.

šŸ’² As of today, adoption fees will increase by $25.

Even with this adjustment, adopting through our rescue is still significantly more affordable than paying out of pocket at a veterinary clinic for:
āœ” Spay/neuter
āœ” Deworming
āœ” First vaccinations
āœ” Microchip

Most importantly, your adoption fee helps cover the care of your new companion and allows us to continue rescuing and supporting cats and kittens who need us most and who desperately need a second chance.

We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support of our adopters, donors, fosters, and veterinary partners. Thank you for your understanding, kindness, and continued support. We truly could not do this work without our amazing community. šŸ’™šŸ¾

Ricky & Lucy ~ 5 month old fixed bonded siblings

Meet Ricky & Lucy — a bonded brother–sister duo looking for their forever home šŸ¾šŸ’™šŸ’—

Ricky (aka Brother Bear) and Lucy (aka Little Sister) are an inseparable 5-month-old sibling pair who do everything together. From playful adventures to cozy cuddle sessions, these two share a beautiful bond and are happiest when they’re side by side.

Ricky is a handsome tuxedo boy with striking markings and a gentle, loyal nature. He’s curious and playful, loves exploring and chasing toys, and is wonderfully well-adjusted around other cats. Ricky can be a little shy at first, but with patience he quickly shows his affectionate side. He’s very protective of his sister and rarely ventures far without her. After playtime, he’s happiest stretched out on you, soaking up rubs and snuggles.

Lucy is the sweetest little girl with a big heart. She’s playful, curious, and always ready to bat at toys or chase anything that moves. When playtime is over, she turns into a total cuddlebug—curling up on a warm lap or creating a cozy nest under pillows or blankets. Lucy is gentle and affectionate, a bit shy at first, and blossoms when spoken to softly and allowed to come to you on her own terms.

Together, Ricky and Lucy are a perfect balance—playful, loving, and deeply connected. They snuggle, play, and comfort each other constantly, and their bond is truly special. Because of this, they must be adopted together, giving them the chance to continue growing up side by side in a loving home.

If you’re looking for a pair of kittens who will fill your home with warmth, fun, and twice the love, Ricky and Lucy are ready to meet you and start their forever adventure—together. šŸ¾šŸ’•

Dot ~ 1 year old spayed female

Meet Dot — the gentle sweetheart with a story of resilience and a heart full of love.

Dot has been through a lot in her young life, including raising her own kittens, and now she’s finally ready for a future where she gets to be the one cared for. This lovely girl is sweet, affectionate, and so grateful for calm companionship.

Dot isn’t a fan of being picked up, but she absolutely adores petting and will happily follow you from room to room, just to be close. On the couch, she’ll settle right beside you—your quiet little shadow—so she can soak up all the gentle affection she loves.

She’s also playful at heart! Dot enjoys batting around her toys and will perk right up for a good play session. And during the holidays? She is mesmerized by bright Christmas lights—they’re her favourite thing to watch sparkle.

Dot gets along well with other cats once she’s had time to get comfortable, and she’d do well with a gentle feline friend. She isn’t comfortable around young children, so a home with older teens or adults would be perfect for her.

After giving so much of herself to her kittens, Dot is ready for a soft, peaceful life where she can simply enjoy being loved. If you’re looking for a loyal, sweet companion who thrives on calm affection and quiet moments, Dot may be the one who lights up your home—just like those Christmas lights she adores. ✨

If you are interested in adopting her, please visit our website at www.happytailscatrescue.ca to fill out an online application form.

Ollie ~ 3 month old neutered male
Hi there! I’m Ollie — your future best friend and I’m a 3-month-old tuxedo boy with the softest fur and the biggest heart. I may be tiny, but I’ve got a lot of love to give!

I’m a professional purr machine, a champion cuddler, and a full-time explorer. Whether you want a snuggly buddy or a playful little adventurer, I’ve got you covered. I’ve never met a human I didn’t adore, and I’m great with other cats, dogs, and anyone who wants to be my friend.

When I’m not playing with toys or following you around like a puppy, I’m happiest curled up against you, purring my whiskers off. I’m sweet, social, silly, and ready to bring joy into your home this holiday season.

If you’re looking for a loving, playful little guy to brighten your days, I think we’d be the purr-fect match.ļæ½Will you be my forever family? Love,ļæ½Ollie
