The Omemee Food Bank is proud to announce that Barry Marr has been awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal for philanthropy and community service.

Barry’s contribution to the community of Omemee and beyond has been great. He served on the Omemee Advisory Committee from 2003-06, chaired the Omemee Chest Fund for 4 years, worked with community care visiting shut-in clients for one year and worked with his wife, Pauline on the Age-friendly Group for Seniors.

Barry was chair of the Omemee Medical Centre for 16 years and was an active member of the Omemee Lions Club for approximately 10 years. He was awarded Lion of the Year 2014-2015. Barry also volunteered with the Omemee Lioness during their apple pies fundraiser.

He was on the board of directors for the United Way Lindsay from 2013-14.

Barry has made a huge contribution to the Omemee Food Bank for over 16 years, holding several positions and is currently the purchaser and floor manager.

The award is being presented to Barry by Jamie Schmale, MP for Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock on Thursday, March 6th at 1:30 p.m. at the Omemee Baptist Church.

Join us in honouring Barry between 1:00 p.m.and 2:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
