A little about me,
My name is Ayla Suffern, I have been a horse lover for as long as I can remember and started taking riding lesson at the age of seven.
Starting out in the English discipline, in Europe, with weekly lessons for three years, transitioning to Western at the age of 10 for twice weekly lessons till I was 13 and we moved to Canada.
Here we had our own personal horses and I spent most of my time trail riding. This led me to my first job guiding trail rides, which I did every summer and on weekend, for five years.
After graduating high school, I attended the Olds College Equine science program for two years and graduated from the Western Horsemanship program.
For the next several years I practiced my skills and worked with many horses on anything from colt-starting to reining patterns and horses with problem behaviours.
In 2016 I welcomed my daughter and shifted gears to focus on being a mom. In 2020 I welcomed my son and as we know the world decided to change. In the spring of 2021, I realized I needed to get back to my roots, for the sake of my sanity and those around me. So, we started construction on my own 100β x 200β arena, 50β round pen, four pens to be dedicated to training horses and an obstacle course.
My training style has developed to be a mix between Clinton Anderson and Pat Parelli with many others in between. I am learning every day, studying and analyzing the best of the best.
I believe there is always room for improvement and that when it comes to horses, we will never be done learning.
