Good morning. I thought I would update on what we've been doing.. since I last asked for any old lumber and plywood laying around, I had a supporter donate some funds to get some houses going.. so a big thank you to her ❤️❤️

Each house we made was made from one sheet of plywood.. will not be insulated but comes with a big bag of straw for each house..

Hoping the funds made from these dog houses can continue on going dog house making.. my only concern is those for animals out there who don't have warm places to lay.. it's winter 😞

And a big thank you to my partner for making these houses the last few cold days.. just need to try add some shingles to the roofs now

Good morning! With the cold weather coming, I'd like to make some dog houses to sell for cheap just so some animals will have some warm shelter..
If anyone has some sheets of plywood, maybe some 2x4s or of any size really.. that I could come take off your hands?
Would be going to a good cause..
I have the tools and stuff, just not the materials..

Good morning. I'm looking for a local volunteer to pickup some dogs from the vet and bring them back to Onion lake for me?
Fuel will be provided, kennels/crates will be provided.
*they are bigger dogs though so preferably someone with a bug suv, van or truck canopy

I hardly ever ask anyone else to pickup animals but I'm so super busy today, exhausted still, didn't get home til late from dropping off other animals from the vet, dropping off safe spots for dogs to sleep in and providing straw.. I'm seriously starting to burn out from literally being the only one who does everything on my own.

From now on if anyone reaches out for help on puppies and having their mamas spayed. I won't be available to drive your animals to vet. My car isn't even driveable to far distances now. It costs me $60 a trip in my truck to go pick up other people's animals. People don't realize this, even the working ones with vehicles who constantly bug me. Can't even get their own animals to the vet. I have a couple jobs too that I also have to try maintain and quit calling in for picking up animals. 🤦‍♀️

Good morning!

A big thank you to Veralyn for bringing down 2 big bales and a ton of cat/dog food.. she helps me out so much and I'm forever grateful to meet someone like her ❤️

With that being said, I'll have the big contractor bags full of straw being sold @ $4 per bag , as it covers pricing of bags, the rest goes to animal funds including fuel, anything needed or just to have emergency funds

Will be ready to go by this afternoon!!

Can be used for warm bedding in your dog houses!!

Man what a morning! 2 messages regarding rehoming/aggressive male dogs.. 2 messages about dogs who have been attacked badly by other dogs and need vet care 😞

This beautiful pup showed up at someone's house in the subdivisions.. looking for her owner, if no response.. will start looking to rehome her with hopes of getting a sponsor to spay her when she's old enough

Good morning! Today is an exciting day as I finally get to purchase fence posts for my fenced area!!!

Thank you to my boss for donating and being so supportive ❤️

Public works for also giving me a fundraiser job and for being on standby as they're waiting to pound the posts into the ground for me.
Awhile ago I had exciting news as I thought we were getting a grant to build a big shop building.. turns out the lady helping me didn't send my application in by deadline.. so I was back to square one and back to nothing going for me..
back to the lady who didn't want to send app in... she said so herself she didn't want animals in "the backyard of her workplace" ... turns out, it comes back around to this being the only available place that i can also have monitored kennels.. so now because she didn't want to help.. she's getting animals in the backyard of her workplace 🤦‍♀️

Thank you to Sabrina Latimer for gathering dog food donations for the rezcue.. Lonnie Boithman for donating food.. seeing as they are such huge bags, for some I will divide and distribute into huge ice cream pails to those in need of dog food..

In hopes of starting a dog food bank for the community, for those who feed strays also..

Also a bit of an update of what I'm up to!
Thank you to Onion Lake Public Works for coming to clear and expand my yard out..
They will also be putting up the fence posts after OLGas and SaskPower are done locating..
It's a start but this area will be fenced off with separate dog runs/kennels inside the fence.. so I can hold a few animals at a time..

Busy couple of days.. and thank you to everyone who helped make this possible!
21 dogs surrendered and taken to various rescues in Edmonton area ❤️

4 female/mama dogs.. 17 pups altogether
1 mama stayed behind and will be a Spay and Return..
Another older female dog will also be spayed and returned to owners.. thank you to Zoe's ❤️🐾

Please please spay and neuter your pets! It's that time of year where all the puppies are being born.. females start going in heat..

Good morning.. I've been fortunate enough to have the support and help from rescue groups near and far.. ladies that come to the reserve and help people who contact them also.. but they also get those people who like to threaten them when they don't get help or from a lying post that only covers their side of the story..

With that being said.. if it comes down to these ladies being "banned from coming into the reserve" .. I will also be done offering help to the community. I stand beside these ladies and will always back them up.. before I've ever started doing anything myself in the community, they were the ones who always came out and gave care to the strays and owned animals that came to the gas bar seeking medical help when i worked there.. they've offered help to owners out of their own pockets.. assist me with transportation, helping me find available rescues for intakes.. they teach me along the way..

I'm upset that there's been threats.. what happens if all this help is gone? Who are people going to turn to for "free help"? Will animal control be there to offer medical help for your animals? free food? free spays in trade of surrendered pups?

Remember this before messaging them and threatening to ban them.. that my help will also be gone. And remember that just an exam in the vet office will cost you starting at $100+ and thats not including care, meds, testing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

**Meanwhile.... while all this is happening.. there's messages coming in like this.. someone who doesn't have $$ for a PUPPY who has broken bones and needs help.. and this is the help they want banished from the community?
