This was the result of my participation in an eagle eye competition today at North 49 Finals. I had 10 seconds to look at the specimen foot to determine to the best of my abilities it's size and shape. Then I cut what I believed to be the appropriate amount of steel bar stock. Finally I had 20 minutes to forge that bar stock into a horse shoe that fit the specimen as precisely as possible. I think I nailed it and so did the judge. 🥇💪
This is genius. She was grooming when I arrived for our appointment and from across the yard I could see piles of hair flying off the horse. Caution though, right after a stopped recording she warned about her experience of the brush getting tangled in the mane. So avoid the mane and tail.
Down here at the College competing in the Olds Classic Horse Shoeing Competition. These competitions are just as much about continuing education and networking as they are testing yourself against your peers. Having fun and building horse shoes.
