After 28 years at Onoway Vet, we are sad to say goodbye to Dr. Tammy Nay.

Her last day will be July 31st, and then she will be enjoying some well deserved vacation time before beginning her new adventure.

We will miss your sarcastic comments and your sassy remarks. (Maybe not the sass).

We will miss your *explicit* vocabulary that never fails to have us laughing when **** hits the fan — literally...

We will miss your incredible passion and your constant desire to provide the best for your patients and community.

Update on the new regulations for traveling to the USA !
No Veterinary visit required as long as you meet all requirements through the CDC.

Updates to CDC’s August 1 dog importation rule: If you are bringing a dog into the US from a dog rabies-free or low-risk country, you now only need to fill out the simple CDC Dog Import Form. Other forms are no longer needed. The requirements for dogs arriving from high-risk countries have not changed, and these dogs are still required to have additional documents. We are sad to say goodbye to our lovely Dr Tanya Knittig.

She will be gone for the summer as of May 30th, and as of right now it is undetermined if she will be back in the fall or if she will continue on to new adventures.

We will miss your positive attitude regardless of the situation at hand, your goofy jokes, and your beautiful smile.

We wish you luck, tons of fun, and relaxing moments on your new adventures !

- 2 inch medical tape
- 1 pack of gauze
- 3 inch cling wrap x2
- telfa pads (8x10) x3
- 2 inch bandage tape
- hibitane (antibacterial soap) 250ml
- saline bag 250ml
- 1cc syringe x 2
- 5cc syringe x2
- tongue depressors x5
- bandage scissors
- derma gel spray 50ml

Here is some information to keep in mind for when you're preparing for unexpected emergencies.

Natural disasters included !

Make sure you include how you might transport livestock (have trailers ready etc.), and if you have any contacts for places you can keep these animals in case of emergency.

Its Mental Health Week !
In honour of this, we wanted to shed some light on the organization, NOMV.

What is NOMV ?
It stands for Not One More Vet.
It was created in 2014 following the su***de of Dr. Sophia Yin, by Dr. Nicole McArthur. In the days following Sophia's death there were news reports that veterinarians are at an increased risk for su***de.

There were studies done that showed the rate of su***de in the Veterinary profession was 2.5 times more than in the medical profession, and 4 times more than the general population.
It showed that 1 in 10 veterinarians, and 1 in 5 veterinarian technologists, have contemplated su***de.
As well, 80% of veterinarians suffer from clinical depression, and 50% feel unhappy in their careers.
Even students fresh out of school are at risk as a result of stress and financial debt.

Today NOMV is a non-profit organization that provides multiple pathways to address the wellbeing of veterinarian professionals, such as :
- The world's largest peer-to-peer support group
- An educational program focused on wellness
- A support grant program providing immediate financial support
- An online crisis support system designed for Veterinary professionals
- Research to further the advancement of wellness, mental health, and the reduction of su***de.

You can't see someone's mental health.
