Teaching recall with distractions. Here I throw a treat to Logan and tell him "get it". While he's distracted and turned away from me I say his name to get his attention and then I tell him what to do. In this case "come!". The reward for his recall is a treat tossed in the other direction. Great fun and proofing recall trainingl all in one 😁
The highlight of my day yesterday was seeing Peggy A. Russell and baby Rosie (only 12 months old!) walking down Broadway for the FIRST time ever. When I met Rosie she was super sweet but very anxious, timid and reactive. Look at them now!!!🥰🥰🥰🥰
Hi all! Here's a quick demo video on the importance of a release word. It's crucial to teach your pup that an open door/gate does not mean you can just go through, they must wait to be released.
Here's a little more detail on how to teach the settle on your bed. I throw a cookie to get him off the bed, then I wait for him to think about what works for him, which in this case is going back on the bed. As soon as he figures that out and steps on the bed I click+treat. I will repeat this over and over every day. Eventually I won't click until he sits on the bed, then eventually I won't click until he lies down on the bed. 🐶👍🏻 Happy ➕ training everyone!
