As we enter the next 4-6 weeks, please be aware that this is the mating season for coyotes. During this time, it’s crucial to keep a close eye on your pets, especially dogs.

Why You Should Be Cautious
Coyotes are known to use tactics to lure dogs away from their owners. One common strategy involves a coyote enticing your dog to chase it, while the rest of the pack lies in wait. This can lead to a tragic outcome, as they may attack your pet.

Key Facts
Coyote mating season typically peaks in late February and early March.
The gestation period for coyotes lasts about 58 to 63 days.
Male coyotes may exhibit increased aggressive behavior during this time.

What You Can Do
Never leave your dog outside unattended. Always supervise them during walks and playtime.
Keep your pets on a leash to prevent them from wandering off.
Be vigilant when walking in areas known for coyote activity.
