Good afternoon PCPS family,
This is an emotional day, as I share that I have decided to close the shop, permanently.
I would like to thank those in the Town of Oromocto for their continued love and patronage from October 2009 to January 2023 (when I medically retired). And then again for Yvette from January-August 2023.
Thank you to the dozens of out-of-towners who travelled from afar (from Miramichi, Doaktown, Grand Bay-Westfield, Young’s Cove, Saint John, Moncton, Harvey etc). As well as all the fellow military families I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with. Some returning after 2 and 3 postings!
Because of you, Paw-Fully Cute Pet Spa thrived for almost 14 years in our community.
For nearly 18 years, I was lucky to have worked in a career I knew I was meant for since day one. After completing my schooling with PetSmart in Edmonton, I returned to my Calgary store to continue my apprenticeship and become a certified groomer. From there I took a position as soul groomer, with Rowdy Dawgs. This was when I discovered the benefits of working in a quiet shop. Not just for the dogs & cats, but myself as well.
When I decided to make the move back home, Waterview Animal Hospital in the Miramichi, welcomed me with open arms. Not only were they incredibly supportive while I worked there, but again just over a year later when I met my now husband and relocated to Oromocto.
To my fellow colleagues,
Thank you for your friendship, motivation, mentorship and guidance throughout the years.
To our kids,
Thank you to those who spent time (working or chatting) in my shop with me. And to the referrals you all sent my way.
To my husband Paul,
Thank you for your continued love and support as I lived my dream of owning/running my own shop. Through the ups, downs and endless construction requests… thank you will never be enough.
And so, as I disconnected the phone number 2 days ago, that I hand picked so many years ago (208-PAWS), it reminded me that this isn’t just the end of a chapter. It’s the end of a small legacy of animals who were loved on and cared for in one of their most vulnerable times… created by me!
I’ll never forget, and always be proud of, my small business which came to life at Jackie & Gary White’s kitchen table. Gary and I working on a name. Both excited as the word ‘Paw-Fully’ fell from his lips, giving birth to Paw-Fully Cute Pet Spa.
1 year in the Miramichi.
14 years in Oromocto.
My appreciation for everyone involved is endless!
Thank you all! You are loved!
