𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐖𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐃𝐫. 𝐕𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧?

A few years ago, I was working alongside a group of veterinarians and support staff who were deeply frustrated. They spoke about corporate control, about being undervalued and overworked, about how decisions made far away — in a boardroom — dictated how they practiced medicine every day.

They felt stuck. They complained about burnout, lack of growth, and the loss of true patient-centered care. They said they wanted change — that corporate greed was robbing them, their clients, and their patients of what veterinary medicine was meant to be: compassion, trust, and professional pride.

I listened. And I decided to do something about it.

Building Something Different

A few years later, we opened Dr. Vetamin — an independent, veterinarian-owned hospital built from the ground up.
No investors. No distant executives. Just a vision to create a space where medicine comes first, where innovation is welcomed, and where people can grow without being limited by corporate spreadsheets.

We invested in top-tier equipment, built a facility designed around patient comfort and team efficiency, and built a culture that puts integrity before convenience.

The Surprising Reaction

When I reached out to some of those same colleagues — the ones who once spoke about breaking free — their tone had changed.

Suddenly, the corporate world they once criticized became “a stable place.”
They told me, “The corporation just built us a new shiny hospital.”
They said, “Things have never been better.”

And I couldn’t help but smile.

It’s easy to complain about your circumstances. It’s much harder to change them.
The truth is — most people aren’t held back by a lack of opportunity. They’re held back by fear.

The fear of losing stability. The fear of the unknown. The fear of taking control of their own lives and being responsible for the outcome.

So, they choose comfort over courage. They convince themselves that things are fine, even when their hearts know otherwise.

But progress — real progress — only happens when someone decides that being uncomfortable for a while is worth living a life on their own terms.

🚨 Urinary Blockage in Cats: A True Emergency 🚨

This adventurous dog swallowed two skewers in two months!! Both required surgery, and luckily both times had a happy ending.

A reminder to keep skewers and sticks far out of reach! 🐾

This curious kitty got a little too creative… and swallowed a 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝. 🧵😿

Our veterinary team quickly diagnosed the problem with X-rays and performed a delicate abdominal surgery to remove the dangerous foreign body.

💉 From anesthesia to careful removal and post-op monitoring, every step was crucial in saving this cat’s life.
The good news? ✅ He has recovered well thanks to timely intervention and round-the-clock care.

We recently treated a brave pup who accidentally got 𝐚 𝐟𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐥𝐨𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐰 𝐩𝐚𝐝. 😢 This was a delicate case — the hook had penetrated in such a way that removal required anesthesia and surgical removal.

✅ The good news: with proper care, he is now recovering well!
⚠️ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫: Fish hook injuries are true emergencies. Trying to pull it out at home can cause severe pain, bleeding, infection, or even permanent damage.
