Some cats are destined for greatness and some for hats. Black cats are often referred to as house panthers: well Sebastian is what can better be described as a handsome lovable glossy black lump that is up for anything. Fast and agile at meal times but decidedly laid back the rest of the day. Dress him up and he is ready for any occasion. Spice up his life with a quality catnip, a sunny spot and you have one contented cat.
How he remained a stray for so long is a mystery. A friendly chatty cat with no fear of strangers. he soon settled into his foster home where he gets along with cats, regardless of their desire to ignore him. A medical miracle having come back from the brink of death he does have to remain on his special diet which he loves. Sebastian is a treasure waiting to be discovered by his perfect family. Check out our pinned post and fill out an application form. He would love to meet you over a Zoom call. https://www.facebook.com/ottawakittenrescue/posts/256516833551414

470 DAYS IN FOSTER
Adoption Fee $500.00

Available! Bonded Pair
Mario & Luigi
• Gender: Male
• D.O.B.: April 2020
• Good with cats: Yes
• Good with dogs: Yes
• Good with kids: Yes
Mario and Luigi are a charming pair of bonded brothers who are ready to bring love, laughter, and companionship to their forever home!
💚 Luigi is the ultimate little shadow. Gentle, affectionate, and always curious, he loves to follow his foster mom around the house, quietly supervising all her activities. When it’s time to relax, you’ll find him curled up on a lap, purring and soaking in the snuggles. He’s a sensitive soul who thrives on affection and routine.
❤️ Mario is more independent than Luigi, he’s the self-appointed “tour guide” of the house, proudly showing off his favorite nap spots and cozy corners. He loves chatting with his humans—especially when it’s mealtime or back-scratch o’clock! Mario is charming, curious, and always up for a little adventure or a game of chase with his brother.
Together, Mario and Luigi balance each other beautifully. Luigi brings the playful, cuddly vibes, while Mario adds charm, adventure, and conversation. Whether they’re curled up together in a sunbeam or playing with a feather wand, these two are happiest side by side.
They are inseparable and must be adopted together—and once you meet them, you’ll see why! They’ll fill your home with warmth, love, and twice the joy.
*Luigi is on a prescription diet*
They’ve been waiting patiently for their people — could that be you?

Reggie and Zoe’s story touched us all. Their caretaker had passed and the 8 year old cats found themselves shell shocked, far from home in an environment that was detrimental to their well being.. Intake closed we had to step in taking them into care and prepared to foster for a long time. Incredibly the stars aligned and their people found them. Their amazing foster is having a little cry right now after waving them off with what only can be described as the perfect adopters.
Congratulations Elizabeth and Clara on completing your family and a hug, thank you and a Kleenex for Emily for loving them as her own

A tad larger than this morning's kittens. We are stunned these outgoing tabby brothers are still with us. 631 DAYS and counting. We understand that when their people finally find them and apply their foster Mom will be elated followed by a sense of loss as these cats have become family. Before you ask. She has already foster failed twice. It is impossible to keep them all.

🩵 Chandler is a certified Mama’s boy — this sweet snuggler can usually be found napping beside his foster mom in her office during the day, and come evening, he's ready for cozy couch cuddles. His love language? Quality time and quiet companionship.
🩵 Joey, on the other paw, is an equal-opportunity lover — he’s all about spreading the affection! Whether you’re his foster mom, a friend, or just someone passing by with snacks, Joey’s heart is open and ready.
These two are not just cuddle professionals — they’re also playtime legends. They adore romping around with their foster siblings (furry ones of both the cat and dog variety), but the real show starts when it’s a 1-on-1 showdown Think high-speed zoomies, dramatic pounces, and lots of hilarious hijinks!

The tiny terrified tabbies that were rescued from euthanasia two months ago are now confident cuddly cats. Today they will receive their rabies vaccination and are ready for their next big adventure.

Good with cats: Likely
Good with kids: Likely
Good with dogs: Likely

Mark loves to be where the action is! He’s always the first to let his foster mom know when it’s time to eat! This talkative guy has something to say about everything! When he’s not busy keeping tabs on the household, he’s happy to settle in for a cuddle.

Natalie is a fun loving and adventurous kitten! She’s mastered every high perch in her foster room and loves to watch her brothers try to catch up. Natalie is also incredibly sweet, she loves to curl up in bed for cuddle at night. Just watch your hair! She loves to play and bat it around.

Irving is a playful little guy who can take down either of his siblings in a wrestling match. He’s found a favourite toy and does his best to guard it with a fierce (and totally adorable) little growl. He’s quick to purr when pet and loves to greet visitors at the door.

Piano has a special message to share with all the people who are worried about her. (specially Tammy Drew)
"Good morning! Miaow! It has been a crazy month for me. Did you know that one month ago, I was too scared to come out of my little house when my fosters were in the room, and that now I am happy to come out and enjoy a churu while they are attending to my needs? I must say, compared to being pregnant on the street, this place has all the luxuries of life! I'm not quite ready for my forever home, but I hope you keep me in mind. If you have a quiet home with a friendly cat, keep checking in on me! Love, Piano"

Mr Congeniality
Bach: Loudest Purr
Tiny but Mighty
Brahms, Mr Congeniality, and Bach with the loudest purr (BONDED) evenly divide their time between their favourite things: cuddling their fosters, exploring their environment, and playing so hard they flop over fast asleep. These two are never far apart and love each other very much, although they do play with all of their siblings. They also fall asleep wrapped around their foster mum’s neck like a snoring fur stole every night!
Mendelssohn, our wrestling champion vacillates from running full tilt to falling asleep in your lap, where he makes dreamy feet. He was the first to the top of the cat tree, the first to find a toy, and the first to come squeaking for attention!
Chopin is the biggest kitten and the obvious winner of the Kibble Cup has a big appetite, a big personality, and big dreams. He loves to play games, chase his toys, and he will play with anyone! He is proud to announce he caught a spider all by himself and had a victory snooze afterwards.

We’re barely scraping by having raised $1200 of our goal. Everyday we are getting multiple requests to help cats in need and our hands are tied. Please help us be able to help the kitties 🩷

Urgent Help Needed to Support Ottawa Kitten Rescue

As many of you know, Ottawa Kitten Rescue has been dedicated to saving the lives of cats in need. Unfortunately, due to overwhelming vet bills, our intake is currently closed. We are receiving at least 10 requests for help every day, but we simply cannot assist without raising the funds necessary to pay off our $20,000 in vet bills.

Our ability to continue saving lives is directly tied to the financial support we receive. Adoptions have slowed, and donations are currently not enough to cover our ongoing expenses. We are deeply concerned about the future of these precious cats who are depending on us.

We need your help. Every dollar raised is a vet bill paid!

Please consider making a donation to Ottawa Kitten Rescue. You can donate in the following ways:

Email: [email protected]
PayPal: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/OttawaKittenRescueCA?locale.x=en_US
CanadaHelps: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/ottawa-kitten-rescue/
For donations of $20 or more, we will issue a tax receipt upon request. Simply provide your full name, mailing address, and email address.

Thank you for your continued support. With your help, we can get back to rescuing and giving these cats a chance at a better life.

Available
Name: Daphne and Dolly
Gender: female
Breed: DLH
Approx. DOB: May 15, 2024
Good with cats: yes
Good with dogs: yes
Good with kids: unknown
Litter trained: yes
Daphne is an introvert at heart. She loves sleeping in, bird watching, but is happy to enjoy a social dinner from time to time. She is a gentle cat who loves snuggles and pats. She is perfect for any fellow introvert out there. Nothing brings her more joy than keeping you company while have a bath, reading a book, or watching nature documentaries. She prefers peace over chaos, quite content to watch the other cats disturb the peace while silently chuckling from afar. She has beautiful spots on her sides and big beautiful eyes that will melt your heart.
Dolly is quite the character! She is best friends with her cat housemates and loves to shadow her friends around. She’s extremely curious. She loves to look out the window at the birds chirping outside. She recently discovered the turn table and loves to have a pat. Not snuggles. Just a pat. In the evenings before bed while brushing your teeth she comes to rub her back along your legs. She is such a fun presence in the home.

Ottawa Kitten Rescue

We welcome you all in support of our new feline rescue, Ottawa Kitten Rescue. For those that know us, it comes as no surprise that we would join forces to save the lives of kittens and cats in need.

Given we both have such a strong passion for helping animals, we felt there no better way to honour this passion than to start a rescue. And so, we introduce, with so much love and excitement in our hearts: Ottawa Kitten Rescue.

Ottawa Kitten Rescue will focus its efforts primarily on rescuing abandoned neonatal kittens and will extend care and support to pregnant cats and moms with kittens.

We would like to thank everyone for their support in our efforts and we can’t wait to begin this journey with you all❤️
