Let’s rally together to support Ottawa Kitten Rescue, who are working hard to cover recent vet bills — including several emergencies earlier this week City Specialty & Emergency Animal Hospital . Every square you buy helps OKR continue rescuing and caring for felines in need!

So, how does it work?

• Donate $10 per square for your chance to win $500!

This is turning out to be an update day. Remember our scared little cat surrendered to the rescue with an urinary obstruction. He is all clear now and recovering. Eddie will be made available once vaccinated and at 100%

FOSTER UPDATE: This sweet and affectionate boy is the total package — social, snuggly, and full of personality. He loves being around his people, rubbing up against you for attention and climbing right onto your laptop to "help" with work. He’s quite chatty in an endearing, chirpy way and enjoys a good cuddle.
He gets a case of the zoomies once a day and will even try to get the dog to play with him! His playful side also includes a fascination with water, so don’t be surprised if you catch him splashing around. A real character and a loving companion, he’s ready to charm his way into someone’s heart.

Thank you for the outpouring of concern and the donations towards our two latest emergency bills. Piano and Ted.
While Piano remains at City Specialty & Emergency Animal Hospital and we are drowning in vet bills we are so happy that Ted has been released and is enjoying being in a home again. His foster notes that Ted is not only handsome, he is cuddly and quite the chatterbox regaling anybody who will listen of his all of his days in the hospital and life in general. Best news of all - he is 'donating' to the litter box.

What comes after Monday? Toonie Tuesday!
Ottawa Kitten Rescue needs your help in paying down their vet bills so we can help more felines in need like little Beethoven of the Composers. Mom is in ICU getting the medical care she needs. All of her kittens are being bottle fed every three hours. We will update on Mama Piano when we have more news on her.

Currently, Flo is working on perfecting her leash skills, but she’s eager to learn and enjoys every moment of it. Sweet Mama Piano was admitted to the ICU at Capital City Specialty & Emergency Animal Hospital for septic mastitis. She required a blood transfusion overnight. She is showing us she wants to fight so we are helping her fight 🖤💪🏻

Her kittens are at home being bottle fed by their amazing foster. We are so thankful that she caught the signs and rushed her in.

Piano could really use your help! Every little bit helps 🖤 her bill Is growing fast!!

While we wait for news on Mama Piano let us celebrate an adoption

Two kittens surrendered to the rescue by their owners after the kittens had consumed a foreign object, requiring surgical removal were fostered together. A lovely couple just wanted to help out. They had no wish to be cat owners! Well Yukon and Roxy had different ideas they just squirmed and wiggled their way into their lives and hearts. SUCCESS their fosters could not bear to separate them or could imagine their lives and home without them.
Congratulations Patrick and Erica on the fur babies you never knew you needed.

Sweet Mama Piano and her crew of kittens are now at Capital City Specialty & Emergency Animal Hospital for suspected mastitis. She is very lethargic and her temperature is 40.8 which is very high. The poor mama didn’t want to eat, and her diligent foster noticed she was uncomfortable. We rely on our fosters to let us know when our cats aren’t feeling well; thankfully, she’s in great hands.

Once in a while, I'll come over to make biscuits and nap with you!

I let my sister shine most of the time but I also flirt, rub against your legs, and lean in for pets—especially if my favourite treats are involved! When I'm not sunning my dense fur near the windows, I like to watch critters outside, play with toys and hang out with my sister. I don’t mind being picked up for a few moments, especially if you rub my cheeks and ears. I make adorable soft squeaks and trill noises too!

Daphne enjoys long naps and loving pats! She’s a little introverted and enjoys her time in solitary. She recently discovered the tweety birds in the house and enjoys watching them in the morning. Once everyone is asleep she likes to explore the house and engage in shenanigans with her sister. She’s quite the sweety pie excited for dinner and a good pat. She wants nothing more than to enjoy her bird tv and some company.
Dolly is quite the character! She is best friends with the resident cats and loves to shadow them. She’s extremely curious. She loves to look out the window at the birds chirping outside. She recently discovered the turn table and loves to have a pat. Not snuggles. Just a pat. In the evenings before bed while brushing your teeth she comes to rub her back along your legs. She is such a fun presence in the home.

It's not all about itty bitty kittens. Meet Lilly. Her owner, due to their age/health could no longer care for their furbaby. Believing it was an act of kindness and that Lilly could not end up in a cage in a shelter brought Lilly to the vet to be euthanised. If only they had known about her fate may have been settled months ago.

Apart from Lilly requiring a specific food and like a lot of older cats help with constipation, (Restorolax to the rescue) 11 year old Lily is in perfect health. She is a solo cat, not caring to share her home with others. As one would expect of a grand dame, she’s intolerant of dirty litter boxes and has her foster trained to clean at command. A true Siamese she is vocal with her requests. Lilly is a very affectionate, lap cat who will share your bed once you’ve passed muster.

The Canada crew is now almost three weeks old, and are eating up a storm, and crawling around everywhere! They’ve already started playing with each other, finding each other’s tails particularly entertaining, and are finding their feet, stumbling around like tiny human toddlers as they learn how to run!! Nessa remains a devoted - if somewhere helicopter-y mom, always keeping a watchful eye as her kittens explore, although she will always gladly accept treats!! The kittens’ personalities are starting to emerge - Maple the mischievous, Rocky the adventurer, Moose the chatterbox, and Puffin the gentle soul. They are already starting to love human interaction, rushing to see their foster humans when they come near and loving all the pets and scratches they can get! Can’t imagine a more delightful crew!

We welcome you all in support of our new feline rescue, Ottawa Kitten Rescue. For those that know us, it comes as no surprise that we would join forces to save the lives of kittens and cats in need.

Given we both have such a strong passion for helping animals, we felt there no better way to honour this passion than to start a rescue. And so, we introduce, with so much love and excitement in our hearts: Ottawa Kitten Rescue.

Ottawa Kitten Rescue will focus its efforts primarily on rescuing abandoned neonatal kittens and will extend care and support to pregnant cats and moms with kittens.

We would like to thank everyone for their support in our efforts and we can’t wait to begin this journey with you all❤️
