While we take pride in celebrating successful adoptions and joyful occasions, it is important to acknowledge the reality of rescue. Some cats never make it to adoption. This morning, we highlighted Tai and Cher, now leading the foster leaderboard for days in care after Joey and Chandler were adopted last month. Their foster Mom shared this with our group.

"I understand how disheartening it can feel for those of us with long-term foster placements — watching these special little ones get passed over time and time again. But I hope these photos serve as a reminder that their forever people are out there, just around the corner.
Joey and Chandler were with me for nearly two years. Today, I received an update with photos from their second birthday — celebrated with their forever family, complete with a birthday party, cake, and festive decorations 💙"

The TV Series Severance won eight Emmys on Sunday but the big winners were Mark and Irving of the Severance Crew kitties. Yesterday they were chauffeured to their forever home by new Mom Emily. Andrew and Juliet her furless children are about to have a lot of fun with these two. Congratulations Emily and family and a huge hug and thank you to the ‘Katie Crew’ their interim humans who have loved these kittens from the day they met them.

With a foster Mom who can't say no when we reach out they are enjoying their interim life with ALL of the resident cats (previous fosters) and are considered family. As we tell their foster family. You can't adopt them all.

Cher a blend of curiosity and mischief, dives headfirst into every adventure—no cardboard box unexplored, no feather wand un-batted. Cher follows her foster mom with all the stealth of a ninja on a midnight snack run, providing assistance in the office and every room in the house. Cher is the life of the party, even if the party is just the red dot from a laser pointer.
Tai may look like she’s plotting to take over the world—or at least the treat jar—but behind that serious poker face is one of the sweetest cats you’ll ever meet. Tai has enough energy to wrestle cats twice her size She’s the social butterfly of the feline world, managing a packed schedule of play dates, meet-and-greets, and impromptu wrestling matches. Walter is beginning his forever life today.
He was surrendered to the rescue by owners grateful that he could receive the medical attention he required and be given a second chance. Marisa spotted Walter's profile and our plea for donations. She never expected to adopt him. Yet she kept thinking of him. Some cats just speak to you! Meeting him on a Zoom chat she knew he would be the companion for her Rosie. Today he was met with open arms and welcoming smiles by Marisa and Jaxen. Jaxen has already changed the sign on the door to read Do Not Let the Cats Out. Congratulations to Walter’s new family, and heartfelt thanks to Helen for being his caring interim human

Yesterday we introduced you to the newbies in foster. Mario and Luigi were 'today's headline once. Today we count 544 days in foster. The cats are not concerned . They have not a care in the world safe with full bellies happy and loved. Wouldn't it be fabulous if they were chosen as family?

Luigi is the ultimate cuddle bug. This big sweetheart thrives on affection, loves curling up in laps, and never turns down a snuggle session. He’s also playful and has a goofy side that keeps everyone smiling.
Together, Mario and Luigi balance each other beautifully — one adventurous and curious, the other soft and snuggly. They get along wonderfully with cats, dogs, and kids, making them a dream duo for almost any home.

The cat distribution system working its magic.

With three adoptions pending what did we do? Yes, you guessed it we took in the family living in a neighbour’s yard that we mentioned last week. In another location one of our fosters starting feeding an outdoor cat, trapped her, took her to the vet to be scanned for a microchip, posted in her community pages and for her troubles has acquired another foster for herself and the rescue. Luckily she was taken in before the Tom’s got to her. No kittens for Tabitha but her foster is currently enjoying the ’gentle melodies’ of a cat in heat.

The kittens are approximately 6 weeks old. Look cute don't they? Also stinky and full of worms but that is easily resolved. Mama is taking such good care of them while enjoying nutritious food in a safe place. Tabitha is a sweetheart. Obviously known a home and loved.

Pablo and Tyrone are gentle, curious, and playful brothers. Though they could be mistaken for identical twins in low lighting, Pablo is slightly smaller and has a white tip to his tail.
Affectionate doesn’t even begin to describe these two. If you’re hoping for privacy, give up now as Pablo and Tyrone are convinced that personal space is a just a thing of myths.
Their number one pastime? Window surveillance! They monitor neighborhood birds and squirrels with the intensity of over-caffeinated security guards. Whenever a squirrel dares to approach the windowsill, tiny noses pressed against glass, tails twitching, and a chorus of hopeful eeeeks.
Forget lone wolves; these two travel as a pack with their trusty sidekick and personal groomer, Callie the resident cat. There’s always an entourage: outside closed doors because clearly, you need supervision. With this trio around, loneliness doesn’t stand a chance, but meal preparation might take twice as long!
Both cats are currently on a strict veterinary diet to address gastrointestinal issues
Tyrone is officially “healed. Pablo, meanwhile, continues to host the Troublesome Tummy but we are hoping the latest diarrhea PCR will shed some light on it and we can solve it once and for all.

Florence – the DOG that snuck into our cat rescue.
Our name says it all. Our focus is cats and our audience look to us to adopt felines. Please share Flo’s story and help us connect her with the family meant for her.
May 2024 when a tiny neonatal puppy found her way to us our bottle feeder stepped up. Flo was an unexpected guest and such a delightful surprise. Sixteen months later, Flo, cute as a ginormous button is still searching for her forever home. Healthy, spayed and UTD on her vaccines her adoption fee is $875.00.
Flo is a dog shaped ray of sunshine. If there were a medal for tail-wagging or a trophy for “Best Snuggler On The Planet,” Flo would have an entire shelf dedicated to her achievements. Eager to learn new tricks and commands she will soon need to add a second shelf. With puppy-dog eyes that could win over even a grumpy cat Flo is basically pure happiness wrapped in fur. She’s the kind of dog who brings the party wherever she goes—especially if it involves treats or tennis balls. Buddies with the resident dog (and cat) she would do well with a canine/feline companion(s) If your life needs a little more laughter, a lot more cuddles, and a canine sidekick who’s always up for adventure, a good movie or afternoon nap(s), then Flo is ready to sign the adoption papers with a paw print and a wag.

We welcome you all in support of our new feline rescue, Ottawa Kitten Rescue. For those that know us, it comes as no surprise that we would join forces to save the lives of kittens and cats in need.

Given we both have such a strong passion for helping animals, we felt there no better way to honour this passion than to start a rescue. And so, we introduce, with so much love and excitement in our hearts: Ottawa Kitten Rescue.

Ottawa Kitten Rescue will focus its efforts primarily on rescuing abandoned neonatal kittens and will extend care and support to pregnant cats and moms with kittens.

We would like to thank everyone for their support in our efforts and we can’t wait to begin this journey with you all❤️
