Daphne is a gentle, introverted cat who takes napping so seriously she could win gold in the Sleeping Olympics. Her hobbies include staring down birds with intense suspicion and occasionally gracing mere mortals with her presence at dinner provided the menu meets her refined tastes. She enjoys calm environments, prefers to supervise your quiet activities from a safe distance. A pretty cat with stunning eyes big enough to hypnotize you into giving extra treats.
Dolly, on the other paw, is the social butterfly of the feline world—a four-legged gossip always in the thick of things with the resident cat. She organizes nightly foot-rubbing patrols and can spot a bird outside faster than you can say “catnip.” She will accept pats (but don’t even think about snuggling). Her life mission is to add a spark of mischief and lively chaos to your home.
If you would like to meet them over a Zoom call to determine if they are a match for you please complete our application form.

🌩️ Stormlight Kittens: Week 1 Report 🌩️
“Journey before destination—but also before dinner, nap time, and wrestling practice.”
The Stormlight Kitties are officially one week into their epic foster journey! These three tiny tabby brothers, named after characters from Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive, are already winning hearts with their unique mix of heroism, snuggles, and strategic chaos. (Don’t worry if you’re not a fantasy reader—this story comes with extra belly rubs and 90% less emotional trauma.)
Current Party Stats:
*Kaladin*: Smallest of the trio but fastest to zoom. Kaladin is a brave little chaos missile with a weakness for belly rubs. He’ll stretch out, wave his tiny paws in the air, and physically grab your hand if you dare to stop petting him.
*Renarin*: The watcher in the shadows. Renarin is warming up to his foster parents more each day but still prefers to hang back when strangers or loud noises are involved. He might be shy, but don’t underestimate him—he’s got serious hunting instincts and will take down a feather wand like a true predator (before curling up in a snuggle pile five minutes later).
*Dalinar*: The Blackpaw. Dalinar leads the charge in exploration, often beating even Kaladin to the door when the bathroom gate opens. He starts most of the wrestling matches but somehow also ends up in the middle of the snuggle pile, supervising nap time like a very fluffy general.
Progress Update:
- All three kittens are eating solid food on their own like champs.
- Litter box habits? Excellent—zero accidents in a full week! (Although, let’s be honest: they’re still learning not to step in their own mess on the way out. Poopy pawprints happen. That’s foster life.)
- They’ve gained 90–120 grams each this week. Kaladin remains the tiniest by nearly 100 grams, but what he lacks in size, he makes up for in personality (and zoomies).
- Wrestling, pouncing, exploring, and napping have been upgraded to daily Radiant training activities.
Coming Up Next:
These little heroes will be growing, learning, and leveling up over the next few weeks. They’ll stay with their foster mom until mid-late August, while they:
- Build muscles (and sneak attacks)
- Master the arts of snuggling and civilized zooming
- Receive their 3 vaccines and neutering before adoption

The first two of the eight Little Birdie kittens flew the coop yesterday. Justin and Karen decided Turkey would be the perfect companion for Exodia while Kiet and Duong just knew Grouse was a match for Kid Flash.
We recognize and respect those cats that are truly solo cats but are always so happy when cat caretakers realize that humans are not quite enough for their cats and search for a companion to enrich their cat’s life.
Congratulations to the new families and thankyou to Shannon and Caroline for their dedication to ensuring the kittens had the best start in life.

Meet Eddie—a feline so mischievous and charming, he might just swipe your breakfast bagel and your heart before you’ve had your morning coffee. Eddie’s curiosity rivals that of a toddler at a Tupperware drawer, and he believes every closed door exists solely to be opened by him. A growing boy with a beautiful marbled coat that would make fashion designers jealous and hollow legs, if the amount he eats of his vet prescribed diet is anything to go by, Eddie is undeniably handsome. With non-stop energy he’s always ready for a new adventure, whether it’s scaling Mount Bookshelf, parkouring along a curtain rail or trying out his “howling at the vacuum” routine. Boredom is not in Eddie’s vocabulary. He expects an endless supply of playtime, feather wands, and perhaps the occasional existential debate about why the red dot can never be caught. Rumour has it, he’s currently training his human to fetch the ball for him—it’s unclear who’s learning faster. If you’ve ever wanted to walk a cat on a leash (or drag a purring brick around the garden), Eddie is ready to put on his harness and show you his best dog impression.

Eddie is waiting. Don’t be shy—reach out and discover if you’re a match.

Written by their foster dad.
Bonnie and Perry have been in our home since November’23. Outgrown the cutesy kitten stage, their personalities are formed so no surprises. They have become a part of our family. While we would adopt them having foster failed too many times adding them would tip us over the City by-law limit for permanent pets.
Perry: A GIANT in physical size but still a kitten at heart. He will happily join us in bed looking for belly and chin rubs, only moving off when I stop giving him the attention. Later at night we find him and Bonnie curled up together. A clean freak, he will give the others a tongue bath regardless of their desire to want one.
Bonnie: This sweet girl can usually be seen in the front window as I pull into the driveway and she’s the first at the door to greet me with an upturned face and a gentle meow. She will then run to where her wand toy is and let me know she wants to play. One of her funny habits is to catch the wand bird and trot off with her nose in the air and bird in her mouth. The shy one of the two, once get gets to know you she accepts being pets and being picked up. If she sees me petting another of the felines, she will come running and bump the other out of the way so that she can have some pets.
As painful as it will be for me when Bonnie and Perry finally do leave to be with their forever family I know it will be the right thing for them, and I will celebrate though my tears.

Bach and Brahms - Bonded Pair
Bach and Brahms are super confused - their astrological sign is Aries, but they feel like The Gemini because they're two peas in a pod. They would love to have people of their own to monopolize.
Bach is a tiny girl, but she's the brave one of the two. She's an explorer who loves to jump and climb and investigate her surroundings. When she's done her adventures, she runs to her foster parents to cuddle with her brother and snuggle up with her people.
Brahms is a little bit more hesitant - he also loves to play, but he's very happy to sit on someone's lap and be snuggled. He likes to give his sister baths - she's a little less enthusiastic, but she's very clean 🙂
Chopin
This kitten has a big smile, a loud purr, and a mighty hunting song. (When he has a sparkle ball, he thinks he's a fierce tiger.... but he's all pussycat.) He is very clever and would likely excel at learning to solve puzzles or tricks. And at the end of the day, he will flop down beside you in bed.
Mendelssohn
We're pretty sure that this kitten is actually part dog. He is obsessed with his dog foster brother and wants to spend all his time playing with the dog's toys. He's also very affectionate - he likes to lick his foster's hair and cuddle into their necks. Mendelssohn really needs a companion, as he does not like to be alone.

Ottawa Kitten Rescue

We welcome you all in support of our new feline rescue, Ottawa Kitten Rescue. For those that know us, it comes as no surprise that we would join forces to save the lives of kittens and cats in need.

Given we both have such a strong passion for helping animals, we felt there no better way to honour this passion than to start a rescue. And so, we introduce, with so much love and excitement in our hearts: Ottawa Kitten Rescue.

Ottawa Kitten Rescue will focus its efforts primarily on rescuing abandoned neonatal kittens and will extend care and support to pregnant cats and moms with kittens.

We would like to thank everyone for their support in our efforts and we can’t wait to begin this journey with you all❤️
