We will be posting an update soon about Eggnog, the ginger kitty, being pulled from the shelter. The comment section beat down our spirits for trying to do a good thing. People need to gain critical thinking skills before commenting.

People unable to read and then attack us, the ones trying to save this cat. I’ve lost so much hope in humanity from that comment section.

Yet all those folks never offered to foster, donate or even transport this cat. But we’re the bad guys for trying to save this cat from euthanasia. Make it make sense.

Thank you to all the folks that love our rescue and support us. You all make doing this hard job worth it.

Be kind to each other, and maybe read before jumping to crazy conclusions.

We have been dealing with this a lot lately and it’s becoming incredibly frustrating. READ THE POST PEOPLE.

We are trying to pull him from the shelter in Quebec where he is on the euthanasia list - WE DONT HAVE HIM IN CARE.

It’s incredibly concerning the amount of people who don’t read the post and accuse us of killing innocent animals when we are the ones doing the work to actually try to save him. It’s disheartening.

You don’t like that this is happening, apply to foster! Donate towards his vet care. Do something other than sitting behind your phones and calling us murderers.

Stop sh****ng on the people actually trying to help this cat.

Bah humbug!

‼️ scheduled for euthanasia tomorrow

We are desperately searching for a foster home for this 2 year old boy. Really hoping for a Christmas miracle.

This 2 year old boy found himself in shelter and is set to be euthanized tomorrow. He snap tested positive for felv but that has never stopped us before. Once in care with would do an actual blood test to see actual diagnosis.

He is so sweet and we don’t want him to die. Do you think you could foster? If you have Felv vaccinated cats or don’t currently have any cats in the home we would love to give this sweet boy a chance at a beautiful life

To literally save his life, please fill out our foster app https://forms.gle/HQd7diG4192RtmtAA

He is set for euthanasia tomorrow.

We know this is a big ask, but we know someone is his guardian angel 🥺

Lulu and Peanut were so lucky to be found and brought into safety. Today as bottle fed babies they simply walked into the carrier when Mom came to collect them. Congratulations go out to Jessica and Family and thank you to Reita for those first precious weeks of care and Dia and Ashley for taking them on and nurturing them.
For fosters it is always tough to say goodbye but it makes it so much easier seeing the amazing family they’re joining.

Congratulations all around and thank you to Andrea and her family for being the Super Kitties interim family and loving them as their own.

Daphne is a gentle, introverted cat who takes napping seriously. Her hobbies include staring down birds with intense suspicion and occasionally gracing mere mortals with her presence at dinner provided the menu meets her refined tastes. She enjoys calm environments, prefers to supervise your quiet activities from a safe distance.
Dolly, on the other paw, is the social butterfly of the feline world—a four-legged gossip always in the thick of things with the resident cat. She can spot a bird outside faster than you can say “catnip.” She will accept pats (but don’t even think about snuggling). Her life mission is to add a spark of mischief and lively chaos to your home.
If you would like to meet them over a Zoom call to determine if they are a match for you please complete our application form.

December 22. Although James had two Canine buddies his family knew he needed a cat friend. Pretty Peony’s personality was perfect and she was adopted as his companion. Then why stop? The following year Tobias and Cora, came along and now things are just right.

December 21. After the unexpected loss of their beloved Theo his parents, after a time wanted to open their home and hearts again. Impossible to replace they honoured him and welcomed two sisters. Lucy and Nora are celebrating their first holiday season as the chosen ones, loved in their forever home.

**edit because people have not read the post, the eyes are photoshopped blue. We wish people would still find them beautiful with their regular beautiful eyes.

We are blown away by the interest in Gwendolyn. Blue eyed beauty but not ready for adoption for a while. Before anybody asks there is no waiting list.
There are so many amazing cats just waiting. Maybe if they had blue eyes they would fly off the shelf.

We never photoshop our cats. They are perfect the way they are but just this once let's see what happens?

Name: Felix & Natalie
Breed: DSH
DOB: April 1, 2025 , March 15, 2025
S*x: M, F
Litter trained: yes
Good with cats: yes
Good with dogs: (yes)
Good with kids: probably
Litter trained - yes.
Kittens are always adopted in pairs or to a home with an appropriate aged feline friend. When Felix and Natalie suddenly found themselves flying solo after their siblings moved out we played matchmaker. History shows that unrelated kitten roommates often become besties. The foster Mom’s latest update confirms that they are a pair and their shenanigans they keep Mom laughing and on her toes. Affectionate purr machines they are just hanging around being loved in their foster home until their people find them. Check out our pinned post for adoption details and application form. They'd love to meet you over Zoom! https://www.facebook.com/ottawakittenrescue/posts/256516833551414

ADOPTED. Ash and Phi had followed Zoey from her first appearance on this page. Their cat Mavis was lonely and like all great cat parents they wanted the best for him. Zoey fit the bill. Congratulations to this new family. Welcome to the OKR community and thank you to Shelley for being her interim parent.

For all those worried that we split up a bonded pair. We did not. Zoey and Mira although from the same litter were not truly bonded. Mira may take a little longer but she also will find her perfect family.

Ottawa Kitten Rescue

We welcome you all in support of our new feline rescue, Ottawa Kitten Rescue. For those that know us, it comes as no surprise that we would join forces to save the lives of kittens and cats in need.

Given we both have such a strong passion for helping animals, we felt there no better way to honour this passion than to start a rescue. And so, we introduce, with so much love and excitement in our hearts: Ottawa Kitten Rescue.

Ottawa Kitten Rescue will focus its efforts primarily on rescuing abandoned neonatal kittens and will extend care and support to pregnant cats and moms with kittens.

We would like to thank everyone for their support in our efforts and we can’t wait to begin this journey with you all❤️
