FREE ALERT!!!

We're being overrun by our water hyacinth over here at the Rainbow Roost Cumberland Beach - if you have (or want to set up 😉) a water feature and are looking for some pond plants come on down to the Roost and take some from the kiddie pool in the front yard!! I'll be restocking the giveaway pond as they continue to grow and spread! We may even have some water lettuce to add in the future if I can get this hyacinth under control 😂😂😂

❄️ It's a winter wonderland out there today!!! ❄️

With the arrival of the snow and in the interests of preserving the self-serve egg bin for years to come, we have moved the bin inside until Spring 🌱🌸

🎉 We will also be offering delivery withing cycling distance of the Roost starting this Spring!!! 🎉

The ladies have been going through a molt and production has been slower as they recover, but we will still have eggs available throughout the winter months!!

Feel free to message us here to check availability or drop by the Roost if you're in need of chicken or quail eggs!! (I'm hoping to start sharing some of the things we do here with the quail eggs soon!)

..but really, this lil one hatched with splayed legs so their getting the shot glass treatment in hopes that it will fix their legs and they will be able to walk (relatively) normal. 🤞

If not, I guess we will have another special needs birb in our flock to go along with our little hop-a-long chicken butter ❤️

Hmm.. should we do an introducing the flock series once the chooks are done molting?? 😁

We've experienced an egg collection hiccup over the long weekend - we should have some eggs out in the bin in the next few days (I'll make a post when they go out) - things have been crazy and we've been working hard on setting up the ladies' new mansion 🤩 can't wait to share the finished product!!

Sorry for any inconvenience our egg shortage has caused :(

ITS THE LONG WEEKEND! ❤️

Time to P A R T Y like the Grackles do every day at the Roost 🎉😂

Heading out for a weekend away so the bin will be empty for a few days but we do have one carton in the house under the supervision of my 15yr old if anyone needs eggs, feel free to either message me and I'll let him know someone is coming to pick them up or head out to the Roost and just knock 😊 although I can't guarantee he will answer the door as he sleeps ALOT 😂

The ladies are getting a new home!!! 🥰 Super excited to get them set-up in their new chicken mansion!!

This also means Quail eggs will be added to the menu once we are all set-up!! Super excited to be expanding the stand!!!

Keep an eye out for our vinyl anti-bird strike window stickers coming very soon (hopefully this week!!!) We will be offering a variety of hummingbird shaped sticker packs in this first round 😁🫶

It's been a minute since this beauty dropped by the camera feeder ❤️ so happy to see her today! 🫶

Despite all the rain today this handsome fella dropped by ❤️

Earlier I was in the back garden and was able to witness some beautiful oriole aerial acrobatics 🧡 Almost was dive bombed though 😅 Yesterday we got some oriole acrobatics at the feeder ❤️

Our shy friend is a Evening Grosbeak :) After noticing her at the lighthouse feeder I did a check of the camera feeder and caught her and her partner having a snackie! 😋 Such a gorgeous pair 💛

This beautiful pair of Northern Cardinals showed up to the feeder ❤️ together ❤️ today 🥰🥰 So in love with these two lovebirds!! Interesting Cardinal Fact from the Internet: Cardinals are “socially monogamous,” and pairs stay together throughout the year and may breed for several seasons. These songbirds must pair up before they can start building their nest, and during nesting season, cardinals have one to two broods each year with two to five eggs in each clutch.
