I have been thinking about why I do what I do...why I started teaching yoga, why I share oils, why I created my own Yoga for Riders program and why I continue to show up. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here’s what I’ve realized: I love teaching. A lot. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A long time ago, a coach saw something in me that I didn’t see in myself. My parents always did too as well as some of my friends. This support helped me grow into who I am and helped me believe in myself. It has become my soul purpose to help others grow into who they are meant to be, and to believe in themselves too. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As a young rider, I competed my pony against the big fancy horses and always worked that much harder to be competitive. I was determined. I hoped one day that would be me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When I met Zinté in 2008, my dreams came true. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But I will admit that I was scared. I was scared I would mess it up or that I was over-horsed. Truthfully, initially I was probably a little in over my head. He was big, bold and full of fire but had such a kind personality and incredible work ethic. He spooked. He bolted. He bucked. My stomach was up in my throat more often than I can count. I got launched a couple times, and came close to being launched a lot more times. Competing became overwhelming for me at times because I didn’t know what to expect. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I decided I needed to do everything I could do to get better and stronger so I could keep up with him. So I committed to my yoga practice. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Over time, I became more confident. One thing that didn’t change was the belief in myself and our partnership. It has helped me get stronger physically, mentally and emotionally. Every little win has felt like a huge accomplishment.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I am here to remind you that it’s possible. Whatever it is that you want. Thanks to everyone who has kept cheering us on, it means more than you know.
