Dear Diary,

It's been 7 days since the 2025 Hell flu entered my home and infected my child, bringing high fevers, severe fatigue, lack of appetite, and nausea. Then it had the nerve to hit the other kiddo, causing the same symptoms but unfortunately more vomiting and close to dehydration.
As if that wasn't enough, it had the nerve to attack me, the one who doesn't get days off. It either beat the ever living crap out of my body or made it feel like it did, and by day 3 left me lightheaded with the new pace of a slug.

Rest assured, all our little friends are safe and well, and I'm thankful they can't catch this.

We are in need of guinea pig food and more regular sized p*e pads if anyone has the ability to help in any way.

We've sold 20 tickets to Music Bingo for tomorrow night; Friday, January 10th!!!

There's still lots of room for more interested parties to attend!

Music Bingo starts at 6pm at St. Louis Bar and Grill 5035 Innovation Drive in Kanata!

Please note that there will be some raffles to enter during the night, as well as prizes for the winners of each Bingo round!

Those who purchased ahead of time will get one free ticket for their FIRST game.
Extra cards for any game are $4 each. That can be paid tomorrow evening by etransfer or cash.

We're looking forward to seeing you tomorrow night!

We've had some movement of little friends at the rescue over the last week and a bit.

Our little Franklin went to his original foster home last weekend. He's adored and spoiled there so much, so I knew he would be over the moon to return while he awaits his forever home.

Mopsy left yesterday for a foster to adopt home. He will have some bonding times with his new (hopefully) friend, and we will see how it goes.

Our little DeeDee also left for a foster to adopt home where she's working on bonding with another female piggy that needs a friend. Our fingers are crossed that they can be bestie or at least really great neighbors.

Pinky left today to go to a foster home while she waits for the perfect home to come along. She will love so much more space and a wonderful view to be her best bunny self.

Since I can't remember if we mentioned that Cookie Dough did, in fact, return but found a new foster home right away with high hopes of adopting. He's being the bestest boy to wrap this family around his little paws.

Lastly, while this one isn't a leaving situation, it's still movement. Our beloved Joey and Chandler will return to us on Friday after a lengthy stay at their first foster home they ever had. They still have never had any interest since being available since May 2022, but we are more than happy to have these boys back at the rescue. I can't wait to see my sweet little guys.

January is already starting out with a lot of promise for a great year for our littlest friends.

We will keep you all updated as time goes on ♥️

As I sit here, hours before we begin a New Year, I feel so grateful and almost a bit emotional.
Thinking back to the beginning and the almost 3 years that have followed, we have seen happy moments of animals being adopted, to low times of losing a beloved little friend, etc.
We've come a long way and built ourselves back up when times were hard.
If we didn't have you guys here following, sharing our posts, supporting us in times of need, I'm not sure where we'd be right now.

Yesterday, all I had to do was ask for help, and in moments, we had messages from people about picking up veggies, offering p*e pads, and sending donations.

I haven't felt so appreciated and beyond grateful that it's made me have a lump in my throat in some time.

Maybe it's the invisible wine, but I'm feeling all the feels today.

From the bottom of my heart and our entire teams hearts and all of the lovely little ones we love, we thank you tremendously and wish you the best that all the new year can bring to you.

Thought we'd share our great need again, but also kindly ask if anyone would be able to help us with p*e pads, vinegar, paper towels, guinea pig food, a vehicle 😉😉, paper litter, and veggies; in particular Romaine lettuce, Spring Mix, colored bell peppers meaning no green ones.
Not having a vehicle is frustrating and were low on funds trying so hard to keep every cent to send to the vet.

If you can help, please know how thankful we will be.

We haven't had any music Bingo tickets sold yet, but hopefully, that will change soon. We still have planners and notebooks to be purchased.
$20 for planners and $12 for notebooks.

It's nice to feel appreciated and recognized when you help someone out.

I really fail at this.

We were helped so much during Christmas time, and I kept letting the time go by to express our sincere thanks.

I want to do that now, but please forgive me if I forget someone. I normally rely on my brain to remember, but that's not ideal for me when I have too much entering my brain constantly.

Over the holidays and leading up to, we were grateful to Kitty Bear for picking up our rabbit food and dropping it off to us.

Janis Renaud Kate Curry and Sara Laplante so generously brought and sent us gifts for the buns for Christmas. They loved them so much, and it brought us such joy to see them so happy.

Thank you to Sheetal Bali for the gift of handmade guinea pig p*e pads that were so beautifully done.

Thank you to Emily Hann for caring for Zee and Dee for over a month while they awaited their spays and recovered. Thank you for also taking them halfway back to their foster.
As well, thank you for collecting and bringing us our hay delivery as we have no vehicle to collect it ourselves.

Thank you to Julie Nelson for donating several auction prizes, delivering them to us, and also making the drive to Orleans to deliver those items there.

Throwback to a year ago with Zee and Dee in their loving foster home. Zee and Dee just returned to their foster home after staying with Emily for over a month while awaiting and healing from their spay. These little girls are so sweet and now officially ready to find a forever home to be loved unconditionally in forever 💗
