The Training Hall is a fully equipped dog training facility. There are classes offered in Competitive Obedience, CKC Rally, Scent, etc.

When there is a demand, Puppy Foundation classes as well as Obedience for Agility classes are offered. Rental time is available to practice various dog sports including Obedience, Rally, Scent and Agility.

RALLY OBEDIENCE ….NOVICE TO MASTERS …THE TRAINING HALL

New session of Rally Obedience at The Training Hall starts June 21 st and there are a few spots that just opened up. Novice to excellent class or excellent and masters class.

A new 6 week session of CKC Rally classes with Marie Nadeau will begin mid November. The classes offered are Novice/Advanced and Excellent/Masters. The classes will be held early Saturday afternoon and we have a couple of spots available in both classes. Please let me know as soon as you can if you are interested in joining a class.

Congratulations to all who entered and played in the Scent Trial this afternoon. There were a lot of smiling faces in the started crowd. A huge shout out and thanks to Debra McPherson for making this happen and thanks to Kitsune Chi (Chris Hanson) for judging these trials. Thanks also to the volunteers without whom no trials of any kind would happen. Another sniffy fun time!!

Classes are on pause, but TTH is available to book to practice your obedience, test your agility skills and/or just play with your dog to exercise both you and your dog.

Full vaccination is required and COVID practices must be followed. 3 Hepa Filter air purifiers are running at all times.

TTH is equipped with obedience equipment and agility equipment. The teeter can be moved, set up and returned to it’s resting place by one person which is rare as most agility folks know.

The Training Hall website will be updated soon but the calendar on the website is up to date now. Check for available slots and then email me at [email protected] to get more information or book your time. Do not try to book here please.

Effective tomorrow, January 5th, as per Government regulations, all classes at The Training Hall are CANCELLED until further notice. The regulations are clear so in addition to keeping our students as safe as possible, which we have tried to do since COVID started, we would be subject to a HEFTY fine which would be almost impossible to argue. Stay safe everybody!!

We are going to host a CKC Rally fun match on Friday, December 10th, all levels. If you are entered in the trials at TDR, this will be a perfect warmup for you. If you are taking classes, this would be a perfect test to see where you are.

If you are committed to attend, please send me an email to frances.holmes .com no later than December 3rd. Include the class you would like to enter, your jump height if appropriate, your dog’s name, the number of runs and if you have an ‘earliest I can be there’ limitation, please let me know that. The cost per run is $10. Marie Nadeau will set the courses and answer any questions you may have at the match.

Do not send fees until we make sure we have a match. I will ask you to send fees when I send out the schedule.

Everyone must be fully vaccinated.

Here we go again. The stay at home order has been extended by two weeks which takes us to May 20th, I believe. That means that classes will not resume until then and I am also pausing all individual rentals for now. First, I don’t want to see anyone stopped coming to TTH and when the Province does its updates, dog training services may be closed anyway, as they should be. People need to stay home. We need to beat this. Stay safe!!

It is with regret and sadness that I have decided to close The Training Hall effective tomorrow for classes and group training. Private bookings and bookings to families who live in the same household who want to train his or her dog will continue. If anyone wants to book a time and hasn’t already, let me know.

Deep in my heart, I know that dog training classes are not an essential service and ‘the numbers’ in Ottawa are out of control. We do not want to contribute to the statistics.

The Province has updated its document showing what businesses are open during the lockdown. Pet training services are allowed to open so it will be business as usual at The Training Hall, of course diligently following our COVID-19 protocol.
