Napoleon wants to let everyone know about our week long nail trim clinic next week!

Next week, 100% of proceeds from every single nail trim done at Nepean Animal Hospital will be going directly to our Oscar Fund. These nail trims will be by appointment only this time, but are open to both pre existing and new clients. 🎄💙

Once again, we do require proof of rabies vaccination prior to booking if this is your pets first time with us.

Napoleon has returned for the season here at Nepean Animal Hospital!

Today he wants to remind everyone how important it is to protect your pets paws this winter. Snow, ice and salt are just some of the outdoor irritations that may harm your pets paws this winter. Some ways you can protect your pet this winter are:
🐾 Purchasing winter boots/paw covers
🐾 Cleaning and drying your pets paws when coming inside
🐾 Avoid bringing your pets outside in the extreme cold weather
🐾 Using pet friendly salts/ice thawers in your driveways

Is your furry friend in need of a nail trim? Nepean Animal Hospital will be hosting a nail trim clinic on November 15th from 3:30-7:00pm to raise money for our Oscar Fund 🐾

We will be accepting both scheduled nail trims at this time, as well as walk in's! This nail trim clinic will be open to both pre-existing clients and non-clients!

We ask that if we have not seen your pet here before, that you bring proof of Rabies vaccination upon arrival to the nail trim. See you there!!

Yesterday, Dr. Spencer and RVT Sam performed an Exploratory surgery on a feline patient at our Nepean location. To our surprise, this patient had numerous hair elastics, pieces of toys, fabric, and some items we couldn’t identify.

Whether your pet is normal a chewer or an eater of things they shouldn’t, it’s always important to notify your vet when you suspect your pet may have an obstruction. This patients owner was very proactive and got their pet in to see us when they noticed abnormal behaviours.

Some signs your pet may have a foreign body can include, straining to defecate, vomiting, lethargy, lack of appetite and thirst, or painful abdomen. These symptoms do not always indicate a blockage in your pet, but they do indicate your pet should be seen by a Veterinarian as soon as possible.

Thank you to our wonderful team for getting this patient on the road to feeling better 💙

Here's another one of our amazing Technicians!

Julisa graduated from Algonquin College’s Veterinary Technician program in 2018. She has a deep love for sassy cats (the spicier,the better). She loves to give treats, some may say a little too much. The patients may be a few grams heavier going out the clinic, but we haven't had any of patients making complaints yet. Some patients won't even leave our clinic unless she walks them out with treats. Julisa enjoys all surgeries,but dental surgeries are her favorite. Your pets will be treated like royalty and she gives them the cutest nicknames. When Julisa isn't at work, you can find her volunteering with some of our local rescues. She loves spending time with her beautiful cats, Dot and Sally. Thank you for everything that you do Julisa 💙

Treats and Cheese make vet visits a lot less scary! 🩵🧀. Peach was so brave during her vaccine visit today with Dr. Mousapour! She didn’t even notice her poke or nail trim. Peach was such a sweet girl, and is currently available for adoption through Freedom Dog Rescue!
