We have exciting news!! 🐾

Both of our hospitals are excited to introduce our new Healthy Start Program! This program was created specifically for puppies and kittens to give them the best start in life. This program consists of 4 pre-booked visits each offering a bundle of essential services. Our goal is to provide new pets with the care they need while offering exceptional value to their owners.

What’s a better way to start off the week than with some super cute puppies at their first Vet visits!

Sky was in today to see Dr. CY and Technician Alex for her first visit. Her favourite part was definitely all the treats! Those puppy eyes stole everyone’s hearts 🩵

Kana was in with Dr. Mousapour and Technician Celina for her first visit as well! She absolutely adored all the cuddles from all the staff members. We couldn’t get over how cute she is! 🩷

Meet Rosa! She was the bravest girl last week when she came to see us for her Spay and Gastropexy 🩵🐾 We’re wishing you a speedy recovery with lots of love and extra treats!

What is a Gastropexy?

A gastropexy is a surgical procedure used to prevent GDV (Gastric Dilatation and Volvulus). This surgical procedure is done by securing/tacking the patients stomach to the abdominal wall in order to ensure it remains in normal anatomical position. Securing the stomach to the abdominal wall helps prevent the stomach from twisting on itself, usually caused by the stomach dilating larger than its natural form with gas. When the stomach dilates and twists, it can prevent a normal flow of gas and fluid through the stomach and restricts blood flow. Gastropexies are most commonly done while a patient is under anesthesia for a routine spay or neuter, and is targeted towards large breed dogs who are deep chested. Some examples of breeds we would recommend Gastropexy procedures for include, but are not limited to: Great Danes, German Shepherds, Saint Bernards, Dobermans, Boxers, Standard Poodles…

Is your furry friend in need of a nail trim? Nepean Animal Hospital will be hosting a discounted nail trim clinic on January 15th and 22nd from 9:30am-12:30pm and 3:30pm-7:00pm to raise money for our Oscar Fund 🐾

We will be accepting both scheduled nail trims as well as walk in's! This nail trim clinic will be open to both pre-existing clients and non-clients!

We ask that if we have not seen your pet here before, that you bring proof of Rabies vaccination upon arrival to the nail trim. See you there!!

It's almost the New Year, and we wanted to give a quick reminder that we will be closing both of our hospitals early tomorrow December 31st, and will be closed at both of our locations on January 1st!
