Welcome to Realm's page! Realm is an absolutely gorgeous Bengal who is 3 years old, male and neutered. He came into the care of Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue through one of their shelter/veterinary partners and was given a second chance at life. We were able to get this sweet boy neutered but noticed he unfortunately was suffering from chronic diarrhea.

Realm was quickly diagnosed with a parasite called "Tritrichomonas" which causes his diarrhea. Infection is most common in young cats from multicat households, particularly pedigree breeding catteries. Realm is originally from Russia and was likely brought here for breeding purposes but sadly abandoned by his owner due to his diarrhea.

Realm has taken medication to help treat his Tritrichomonas infection but it was ineffective. Research suggests that otherwise healthy cats like Realm are able to clear the infection on their own, but each cat is different and we are unable to say exactly when Realm will conquer this!

Realm is truly an amazing boy--he is described by his foster meowm as her "best friend". He is chatty, energetic, and even a cuddly lap cat! Realm is also leashed trained!!! He will need to be the only cat in the home until he is Tritrichomonas free. He is very clean, does not have accidents and uses a fully enclosed litter box purrfectly.
