Warm days call for deep fall harvest
Hardy veggies made sweeter and robust by frost and slower growth.
Beauty. Everywhere.
And this all goes into a last batch of saag style green curry.
Visible to the eyes this vibrancy of green and purple. Invisible but essential is the abundance of micronutrients from the un-tilled soil and almost-wild ways of growing. ‘Foraging’ these veggies always bring me back to thinking and thanking the ancestors, the seed savers, knowledge keepers, and how they are kept strong by the very same plants.

Our Story

We are a small ecological farm situated on the Green Belt of Ottawa, on the JustFood Farm. We have been farming since 2015 and grow certified organic vegetables, especially salad greens. The Chi Garden produces the most diverse salad mix in the region. On average our salad mix has over 20 varieties of fresh leaves and flowers from lettuce, purple bokchoy*, beets green, arugula, asparagus lettuce green*, chrysanthemum green*, pea shoots, sedum green*, goji berry leaves*, radish green, lamb’s quarter, Vietnam coriander*, wild purslane and edible flowers from Chinese kale*, wild mustard & sweet pea, and more!

We sell and deliver locally, and have a weekly farm stand at the Just Food Farm Stand. We make fermented vegetables such as kimchi, ginger-infused garlic scape. Our farm stand also sells fresh savory crepe with greens, ferments, and mushroom oil wrapped inside!
