RVT Month may be over, but we still have one more RVT to celebrate! RVT Rachel has worked here for 1.5 years, and she really enjoys doing nail trims for cats and making paw prints. Rachel has a big orange cat named Mowgli who she adopted at school! Rachel loves keeping busy, spending time outdoors, and collecting vintage cameras.

Alicia might not be an RVT, but she's still part of our super team! Alicia has worked here for almost four years now. She loves taking x-rays and helping out our wonderful clients. She also does a great job making sure that clinic inventory runs smoothly! At home, Alicia loves to cuddle with her kittens "Gina" and "Rosa", and practice new nail art designs!

With Halloween coming tomorrow, be sure to keep an eye on your pets. The commotion of trick or treaters and the doorbell ringing throughout the night can make them anxious. It’s a good idea to have them microchipped and to have their proper ID tags on.

Did you know? Dogs can actually see in colour, just not as vividly as we do. Their colour spectrum is just a bit more limited than ours as they see in shades of brown, gray, yellow and blue. It’s called dichromatic vision, and is similar to humans who experience red-green colour blindness.

Say hey to RVT Jennifer! She has worked here for 6 years, but did work here for a few years before moving to Ottawa and working in a Veterinary Emergency Clinic for 14 years! Jennifer has two dogs named Oscar and Cheerio, two cats named Basil and Quinn, a gecko named Stinky, and some shrimp and snails in a fish tank. Jennifer really likes doing client education, and building connections with our clients and patients! In her spare time, Jennifer likes to watch thriller movies, and visit her family!

If you notice any of these signs - a strong cough (often with
“honking” sound), runny nose, sneezing, loss of appetite or lethargy, keep your dog away from places where other dogs gather. They may have kennel cough, which is contagious.
