Swipper is 3 years old, vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.
Good with males, females and children 10+.
Good with other dogs , has not been trialed with cats but can be upon request.
Good on leash.
Good in the car.
Medium Energy.
Weight is 8 lbs.
Is working on crate and housetraining and has been doing well so will need a family willing to keep working with him on this.
This little guy is sweet as they come!!! Loves to sit with you and cuddle.

Plum / F / 1Y / 12lbs / Shih Tzu mix / Fostered in Port Elgin

Plum is the perfect combination of silly, cuddly, and calm. This adorable girl has an enormous heart and her absolute favourite thing in the world is being with her people. Whether she's snuggled up on the couch, following you around the house, or curled up nearby, she's happiest when she's included in family life. She's also got a playful side that will make you smile—she loves a good game of fetch and gets the most adorable case of the zoomies when she's excited!

She's steadily gaining confidence and truly lights up around her humans. She's not overly vocal except when meeting someone new or encountering other dogs on walks (she likes to announce herself!). Her gentle, sweet spirit and total love of people make her an absolute joy to be around.

Plum is a quick learner who's already making great progress:
- Crate trained - She sees her crate as her safe space and often goes in on her own for naps
- House training - Making excellent progress with frequent potty breaks
- Basic commands - Already responding well to her name and learning "sit" and "come"
- Leash manners - Working on improvement, manageable and getting better as her confidence grows

Plum does well when left alone for a few hours at a time with no signs of separation anxiety. She's content to settle into her dog bed or crate when her family steps out. She's adaptable to different exercise levels—a couple of walks a day keeps her happy, and she settles beautifully afterward.

Kids: Great with children! She's made her foster family's kids laugh endlessly with her goofy ways.

Dogs: Needs slow, patient introductions as she's not overly confident yet and can be reactive at first. With time and trust, she settles in beautifully and is already learning to play—she just needs a gentle approach and reassurance.

People: She may bark initially when meeting new people, then happily climbs into their lap for snuggles. She warms up quickly and really enjoys attention.

Plum would thrive in a loving home where she's part of the family. She needs a nurturing environment with both affection and gentle structure. Her ideal home would have patient adopters who understand she needs time to warm up to new pets, and bonus points if there are kids or someone home during the day!

Brooklyn is a delightful young pup who's ready to steal your heart with her calm, easy-going personality and smart nature. Despite being just a puppy, she's remarkably well-behaved and grateful for every bit of attention she receives.

Brooklyn is the perfect blend of playful puppy energy and relaxed companion. She's incredibly smart for her age and has a naturally calm demeanor that makes her easy to care for. This sweet girl loves nothing more than cuddles and is always ready to show affection to her favorite humans.

Brooklyn's favourite things:

Joe is a tiny treasure who believes the best seat in the house is your lap! This 5-pound cuddle bug is looking for a special someone who appreciates the finer things in life - like leisurely afternoons in the yard, cozy nights on the bed, and the art of being perfectly portable.

Joe has mastered the art of selective enthusiasm. While other dogs might drag you down the street on walks, Joe has a different philosophy: "Why walk when you can be carried?" He'll simply sit and give you that look that says, "Aren't you going to pick me up?" It's hard to argue with that logic!

This charming little character has his own unique way of communicating. He'll greet visitors with a cautious bark from a safe distance, and he has the most adorable howl that he reserves for special occasions - like sirens or particularly exciting household moments. He will warm up to new people but needs some time.

Joe's ideal day involves plenty of lap time, some supervised yard adventures with canine friends, and being your constant companion. His fosters describe him as low energy. He's house-trained and sleeps through the night like a dream (preferably on your bed). He's working on basic commands and is highly motivated by treats - a smart cookie who knows what he wants!

Bronx / M / 8 months / 15lbs / Chihuahua mix / Fostered in Wiarton

Meet Bronx, a resilient sweetheart who has overcome a difficult past with remarkable grace and an unshakeable love for people. This special boy is the definition of a perfect companion - cuddly, outgoing, and relaxed with just the right amount of playful puppy energy to keep life interesting! We believe he is a chihuahua, dachshund, beagle mix.

Bronx's most adorable trait? When he's super happy, he does a full body wiggle that will melt your heart! This little prince has proven himself to be the easiest foster dog anyone could ask for. Despite everything he's been through, he greets the world with boundless love and trust.

Favorite Activities:
- Cuddling on the couch (his specialty!)
- Having zoomies in the backyard
- Greeting everyone he meets with enthusiasm

Exercise Needs:
- Two 15-30 minute walks daily
- Backyard playtime for those happy zoomies
- Perfect medium energy level

Training & Manners:
- 100% crate trained (settles immediately once inside)
- Fully potty trained with regular outdoor breaks
- Can hold it for 6+ hours when needed
- Learning leash manners (working on that cute duck-and-swerve walk!)
- Working on not jumping when greeting people (he just gets too excited!)

Bronx is a social butterfly who loves meeting new people and makes friends instantly. He's gentle with children of all ages, though he may be initially cautious with very small children before warming up completely. This boy has no separation anxiety and is perfectly content in his crate when you're away.

Bronx is wonderful with dogs and cats. He may occasionally try to guard high-value treats or his favourite humans from other dogs with some grumbling, but he's all talk - there's not a mean bone in his little body.

- He's quite the conversationalist and will "talk back" to neighbourhood dogs when they bark
- May quietly growl at people or pets in the distance while on leash, but settles down as you get closer
- Sensitive to sudden loud noises

Bronx would thrive in most loving homes! All he needs is someone to treat him like the prince he truly is but who will also set boundaries and continue his training to set him up for success.

Please help us raise some much needed funds to support the animals in our care by bidding. Bidding will end on Sunday July 13th at 7pm.

This auction prize includes a 24" wire crate with cover and a 24" Nate & Jeremiah Pet home. Value $200.

Meet Clover 💚

This brave little girl has already shown us what true resilience looks like. At just 4 months old, Clover came to us after a tragic accident where she and her sister were hit by a car. Unfortunately, her sister passed away. Clover suffered a broken leg from the accident and her owner could not afford surgery so made the difficult decision to surrender her to rescue.

After careful consultation with an orthopedic surgeon, we learned that her leg couldn't be repaired. The best option for Clover's quality of life was amputation - and today, she proved just how strong she is by coming through her surgery like a champion.

Though she's still sore and recovering, Clover is already getting around amazingly well on three legs. This little warrior doesn't let anything slow her down!

Clover isn't ready for adoption applications just yet - she needs time to fully heal and recover. But when she is ready, she's going to make some lucky family incredibly happy.

We wanted to share this beautiful message from one of our foster families❤️

"We took a chance when we heard there was a need for Dog Fosters in our local community.

Now almost two years later, I've made this tribute wall to remember all those who have spent time here on their journey to their forever homes.

By far one of the most rewarding experiences I've been a part of. To see each dog's evolution from usually scared of the unknown when they walk in the door, to each individual personality come shining through as they settle in over the first few days. I always thought it would be hard to say goodbye and sometimes it is but when you see them bond when they meet their forever family, it makes it a lot easier but they do take a little piece of my heart with them.

They all are just looking to be loved and to belong.

Foster #10 just arrived a few days ago so a new frame will get started this week!"
