We have such a great bunch of dogs at the moment. They get along beautifully and have settled into shelter life so well. We've been marvelling at how quiet they are when we arrive at the shelter...and all happily greeting the volunteers. They love to get out to play separately or together. It's a real treat having such a lovable bunch! Here are some of the more playful. Louie (brown and white) only just arrived and joined in with the others very happily. Henry, the boxer, is a little camera shy but makes an appearance at the end. He really enjoys playing with the puppies, Willow and Winston.🥰
Whiskey and pups, Willow and Winston, were having a fun time outside today...loving the milder weather. This big field is such a great spot for the dogs to play!
Our little mother, Whiskey, had a fun outing this week at Harrison Park. All the dogs get daily AM and PM walks and playtime at the shelter. Sometimes, as an extra treat, one of our volunteers will take one out for a little adventure. It's so great for them! You can see Whiskey thinks this is a great idea! She's such a nice girl! Thanks, on behalf of our furry friends, to staff and volunteers who go over and above to keep life interesting while the dogs and cats are in our care!! Whiskey is 2 years old and a real love. Good Morning Sandy and Beau
Our boy Dirk was pretty overwhelmed by the shelter environment and all the noise and commotion when he arrived, but he has gradually warmed to our volunteers. He is a really sweet guy once he gets comfortable. Initially, he was too nervous to even put a leash on, now look at him! Patience of volunteers pays off! Notice that he's completely un-phased by all the other dogs, just enjoying his run! This guy will make a great addition to the right family! Dirk is 4 years old, up to date on shots, neutered and ready to find a home. He's good with dogs, cats and older kids.

Bentley had a field trip and he loved it. He had a lovely walk in the park during which he invited himself to join a family gathering and fit right in. Our volunteers are so great to give the dogs this kind of exposure and fun!

Everyone else was in a crazy mood at the shelter the other night, but not Bear...lovable as ever. This handsome boy is a 1 year old Lab-Bernese X. He is a bit territorial about food and toys around other dogs but otherwise enjoys being out on walks with his furry friends. He still has some youthful exuberance so will need an active home and a fenced yard. Bear is awaiting a neuter appointment and then will be ready to go. We (and the lucky cats in the long cat room) are beyond excited to have begun the installation of our cat walls. Commencement of this project was made possible by a generous donation in memory of Levi, beloved pet of one of our supporters. The construction was done by the Wasaga Beach Woodworkers Club Inc. and they've done a wonderful job! You'll see our sweet Precious has taken a liking to the "Levi" platform that gives access to the catio.
