Today I took the opportunity to watch Tinker in person.
What I got to watch was an awesome horse women, Lauryn is doing an awesome job with Tinker and it was a pleasure to watch their session today!

Tinker is available!!
She's in a full time program being started under saddle and doing well for such little time under saddle.
Her current price includes training with Lauryn until December 15th!

Grade 4yo QH mare
She's in the 15 hh range

Currently in a full time training program with Lauryn Rachel Performance Horses. Has been saddled, had ground work, backed and rode at the walk and trot, training is still ongoing.
Ties, loads, and picks up her feet.

She would do best with a confident individual looking to spend 1 on 1 time with her. Once she gets to know you, she is very confident and sweet.

What are you using to polish your silver?

It's been a hot minute since I've been in the show pen or had tack that needed the silver polished up!

I just bought these romel reins and a really nice finished horse bit that could use a good clean and polish to bring them back to their full potential!

So I need some suggestions on what's working, or maybe what to avoid using so I don't make it worse!!

Did you love Tinker every time I posted her?

She's been at the trainers for nearly thirty days now and has a couple rides under her belt this week!
She's booked in for another month to get her under saddle time more solid before she moves along to her new home. Or take her now before she starts her second month(on the 16th) with a couple rides start and finish her how you'd like to!

She is available, she is cute, and she wants your attention!

If you've ever taken a lesson or clinic with me you'll have heard this, or something along this line!

They call it “aura farming”. . .

You’ve probably seen that phrase floating around online lately. It’s the kind of thing people say as a joke. Like a lot of things in life, we laugh because it’s funny and we laugh because it’s true.

In the world of horses, it’s especially true.

Let me share a recent example.

Amy was teaching a groundwork lesson. The horse she used was a veteran; quiet, honest, knows exactly what to do. Perfect beginner horse. The student is brand-new.

To demonstrate the lunging exercise, Amy sends the horse out onto the circle. The rope feeds out, the horse finds the circle, energetic and easy departure. Then she hands the line to the beginner.

Same cues.
Same steps.
Same rope.
Same horse.

Different aura.

The student lifts her hand, tries to send the horse off — and the horse just melts toward her, leaning in, crowding her space.

The student is confused. She can’t get the horse to move away.

Now she’s having to use a TON more pressure and even s***k the horse to get it to move, when all Amy needed was finger point.

Why?

It’s not a question of strength. It’s not even a question of technique.

It’s presence.

Every cell in the student’s body was saying “please” and “oh nonono oh gawd don’t mess this up. . . instead of “GO.”

And the horse heard it loud and clear.

Communication always resides underneath the physical aid or cue. The cue is just the punctuation mark at the end of the sentence your body’s already been writing.

Before you move, before you speak, before the rope tightens — the horse has already read your posture, your focus, your intention.

When your thoughts, eyes, and body point in the same direction, that’s when the horse believes you.

We call this “congruency” — total alignment of belief, intention, and action.

Call it leadership, or communication, or presence, or attunement, or convergence, or concillience, or whatever term you want to use.

Call it “aura”, even.

But it’s the oldest communication technology on Earth.

Here's what we do to keep our horses happy and healthy!:
🔥There has to be enough grass! This piece of grass hasn't been touched all year. It didn't grow enough to harvest into hay, but it was enough for the horses to get some winter grazing.
🔥We still check on them twice a day minimum and we can see them from the yard. Old, young or first year winter grazers need to be watched closely.
🔥Fresh water! We break the trough open twice a day to make sure they are hydrated. They are working harder than just standing at a bale.
🔥Mineral and salt! And I don't mean a block(get rid of those!) Free Choice loose mineral and salt to supplement what the grass lacks.
🔥Some weight-loss is normal, but if they can't afford to lose weight or they are dropping fast it's time to supplement hay or move them to full time hay.

This is just some of the things we do to ensure our horses are successful Winter grazing!
