Giving Tuesday Update:
We are almost to 70% of our $17,100 goal for Giving Tuesday!

Funds raised will purchase Cosmo plush companions for children who have to receive radiation treatment. A video series featuring Cosmo helps explain radiation treatment to children, and then they get their own Cosmo companion!

Adult patients will be able to access charging stations at Cancer Centres across the province to charge their phones and tablets to keep them connected and entertained during long treatment days.

Congrats to our very own Gavin Baggs on being named to Canada’s National Para Hockey Team for the 2024 Para Cup, happening Dec. 8–14 in Charlottetown, P.E.I.!

Gavin’s Teammates took some time to celebrate him and this amazing achievement with cupcakes after practice today.

Gavin & fellow NL’er Liam Hickey will represent Newfoundland and Labrador on the international stage as part of an 18-player roster competing against top teams from the United States, China, and Czechia. 🇨🇦

What an incredible week to be a Sea-Hawk! Our athletes have made waves (literally !) with their performances.

🏀 Co-Male Athlete of the Week: Flynn Boardman-Raffet

Game 1 vs. Dalhousie: Scored 29 points on 69% shooting (9-of-13), grabbed 6 rebounds, and made 10-of-12 free throws.

Game 2 vs. Dalhousie: Achieved a double-double with 22 points, 14 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.

Season Highlight: Currently leads U SPORTS in scoring, averaging 23.8 points per game.

🏊‍♂️ Co-Male Athlete of the Week: Chris Weeks

Competing at the Dalhousie Kemp-Fry Invitational, Chris delivered a record-breaking weekend:

🥇 Gold: 50m Freestyle (AUS Record)

🥇 Gold: 100m Butterfly (Provincial Record & MUN Record)

🥇 Gold: 50m Butterfly (AUS Record)

🥇 Gold: 100m Freestyle (AUS Record)

Chris shattered multiple AUS and Provincial records, solidifying his status as a top performer.

Also shining at the Dalhousie Kemp-Fry Invitational, Heidi brought her best:

🥈 Silver: 100m Butterfly (Provincial Record & MUN Record)

🥉 Bronze: 200m Butterfly

🥉 Bronze: 50m Butterfly

Heidi’s stellar performances helped secure multiple podium finishes while setting new records for Memorial.
